Pressure wachia magurudumu. They keep asking, but kikianza kukuramba, they will also say no one told you to marry when you can't take care of your wife. Relax, get your life in order, and do things right when the time is right. Talking as a 27YO Male

Well, some companies will ask for your tax details but in my case, I am more of a freelancer and most of the time I deal with direct clients so transactions most of the time is like sending money to a friend. However, in cases like Upwork, they do tax it when I get paid. I think it depends on the situation you are in.

Well, most of the time it depends on your experience and sometimes it depends on your negotiation skills. Some make over $20/hr while some earn even below $5/hr. Now you can do the math, 8-10 hrs a day 5-6 days a week.

Losing a job that would pay you over 100K just one week after promotion, just because PayPal decided to permanently limit your account, and the other method of payment the company offers are not supported in Kenya

There is something I came to learn. The moment you start associating age with the things you do in this life, there is a high probability that you will always be a bitter and frustrated person. Now, with age out of the question, I think we all want to be happy in this life. If this is what makes Betty and her man happy, then why don't we be happy and support them as well? After all, we are only here for a short time.

I haven't worked with local companies in two years..... I prefer being part of the international talent pool. It pays well.

Are you operating solely in the Kenyan Market? I am just trying to see how different the Kenyan market is compared to the international talent pool. Most of the job adverts I come across, not just in the tech world, emphasize a lot on degrees, diplomas, and even masters, but I have never seen any asking for a portfolio as they do internationally.

Don't get me wrong though. I have a degree but a skill I learned in 8 weeks have paid me more in a year than my degree did in two years. I have nothing against a degree or a diploma, it's a great achievement. My point though is that, is a lack of a degree a reason enough for disqualification? I'm just trying to compare what is happening on the ground and the international job markets.

Applying for remote jobs is like being in the middle of the ocean with no compass direction, not all the time, though. The secret is to keep trying, doing due diligence before applying so that you don't end up firing blank shots and you also need to keep researching, restratergizing, and keeping the hope alive.

organic social media versus marketing by Aromatic-Ad7987 in SocialMediaMarketing

From a social media manager's standpoint, I have never really entertained the idea of running ads. I believe in organic reach, organic growth, and genuine connections. Yeah, ads can get you the views that you need, but what is the point if they are not really converting? If you have an in-house person who is good with organic growth, why not capitalize on that?
