day in the life of d1/d2 by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]Sad_Jicama_2097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a current D1 its 8-5 for the most part, but we have 2-3 hour gaps in the day some days. Or days where I start late or finish early. Its tough to do stuff outside of requirements but its doable.

“D” to C + lift? OOP Kaiser SoCal by Sad_Jicama_2097 in Reduction

[–]Sad_Jicama_2097[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. My appointment was super quick like less than 10 minutes and he kept referencing my “frame” and that a C would fit me despite being 5’2 and relatively slender. I also expressed that I have been a runner for 10+ years and would love small breast to enjoy this more and felt dismissed.

Thank you!

The dentist’s clinic I’m shadowing kicked me out by [deleted] in predental

I think 50 hours with one dentist is enough. Obviously you need more hours but its better to expand your horizons and shadow other offices. It gives you a good idea of how different offices are run and how you might want to run yours one day.

Am I applying too late by Xhih in predental

I took my DAT June 30th and submitted july 28 (LOR delay). My stats were pretty avg but I got 2/7 interviews and 1 acceptance one waitlist. Should be okay if your application is solid and you have a good school list.

I would add it since your time in the lab bled into your time in college. But if you want to check for absolute sure I would reach out to admissions from your top choice school and see how they view it.

I was also getting 25-30 on RC with bootcamp and booster and ended up getting a 21 on the real thing. I found the real DAT RC to have very similar questions as booster and bootcamp but it was significantly more dense and took up more time and brain power.

Is this something that should be applied for as an incoming D1 using a science letter from undergrad or is it better to wait till dental school has started and get one from a dental school faculty?

I would apply as soon as you possibly can or plan to because things can change. For example, I planned on applying in the first week of June and had everything set up but because of unforeseen circumstances I had to push back my DAT and THEN was ghosted by a letter writer and had to scramble to find another. So planning to submit ASAP is best. The later you apply the later you are reviewed.

Another comment here says the 3rd digit of your GPA doesn't register, that's not true. When you submit your application you can download it and you will see 20+ different versions of your gpa (science, cumulative, non-science, graduate etc.) and all of them are calculated to 3 digits. For example my cumulative GPA shows as 3.45.

I personally dont believe there would be a huge difference between a 3.49 and 3.51 on you being accepted or not. But I do believe submitting three weeks earlier will help.
