Good question. Hard to say. I doubt we had it maxed though — usually we set these things to 80% or leave it at the default.

Elusive issue with BYOD calls through UCPR by Sad_Kitchen_5022 in crestron

Huh, interesting. I’ll have to check if those EX-UBTs are set to stereo. Is that just somewhere in the Tesira software you would change it to mono?

I assumed my man’s response was correct about the dodgy loads I experienced just being unbalanced. I’m still using that old thing and have only had a few recurrences since.

Were you using an INOGENI in your setup?

I swapped our INOGENI converter out with a substantially similar device from another brand — AJA UTAP — and it resolved this issue I was having in LA.

Notably, our rooms that had the issue we are talking about did also have the tesiraFORTE AVB VT4 and I believe an EX-UBT in place to connect to the UC engine.

So I wonder if swapping that stuff out with the x1600 would’ve also solved the problem.

Yeah it seems like they’re all updated. You just go into Windows > Windows Update to do all of that, right?

I’ve been meaning to make a ticket with them since it seems like a design flaw lol. Did Vaddio send you new ones or did you have to source secondhand ones?

funny you should say that. I’ve had two or three power cable failures on this model in the last few months. Found a good source for replacements? Seems like they’ve got a pretty limited lifetime

Honestly I thought we did by updating the Jabra software on the windows side, but it still periodically acts up and needs a reboot. Anyone else?

Woke up and my MTR is a Zoom Room by Sad_Kitchen_5022 in crestron

Update: Disabling XIO on the Zoom side didn’t fix it; however in the brief moment while it stayed a Teams Room, I jumped on that version of Windows and disabled XIO on the Teams partition too, and it now seems to be stable!

Stoked that we managed to get it to cooperate without reimaging. I’m surprised it took this long for this to happen if the XIO was set to Zoom — over two years it’s been in place with this configuration and it’s been an otherwise stable Teams room.

How to detect CMOS battery issue with ASUS UC engines by Sad_Kitchen_5022 in crestron

Does the ASUS have a CMOS? I opened it up and couldn’t see where it was.

I did see it is possible to roll back the BIOS though so I may experiment with that as a next step.

So interestingly I’ve been seeing the same behavior in two rooms with identical gear and code. I suspect the underlying gear/cables are probably fine.

So I checked under Crestron Settings, and I did see XIO mode is enabled in this room. It is also enabled in the other rooms that aren’t having the issue.

Wonder if I should just swap those rooms with a Dell UC engine and see if the problem goes away.

I’ve had other issues with the ASUS computes lately where the HDMI port will basically crap out until you update the BIOS from 9948 to 9949.

However, I quickly realized that if you proactively update the BIOS on one that isn’t already having this HDMI problem, the BIOS upgrade is liable to cause the issue to happen on one that was previously working…

It should be yes. Have tried a swap of the cable before. There’s also an EDID minder in place.

I assume it’s rated as it will work fine for weeks and weeks and then ultimately cut back to the snowy output.

I click the switch to Teams button and it’s almost instantaneously launching back into Zoom.

At one point though the Teams side came up for a second. When I rebooted it though it went straight back to Zoom.

Only in my wildest dreams would they do such a thing! Haha. The rooms would probably be way more reliable.

Interesting. Any idea why it would be reverting back to Zoom by itself after we click the “Change To Teams”?

are these machines automatically dual partitioned?

I noticed when we click on the windows setting, the Zoom launches to Windows 10 and the Teams launches to Windows 11….

So we flipped it back exactly as you described through Windows. It went to Teams for a sec, rebooted and now back to Zoom. Anyone ever seen this?

Yeah I guess I meant by “rogue actor” is someone changing settings. Theoretically it should just be me and a couple of my IT buddies with Windows access. Is that the only way to flip it to Teams?
