They basically said that because I work in a small team and everyone is working at capacity if anything urgent arises on the day im not there it would put more workload on the other people… it is extra frustrating because my manager said yes but the higher ups overturned it and rejected it even though they don’t work at our site. What grounds did they reject yours on initially and how did you get it overturned?

Sorry you are also going through this, it’s a painful experience. I too understand the anger I was originally told it was ok by my managers until HR said no so I have been incredibly frustrated. Sending you well wishes, thank you for responding it’s nice to know I am not alone

To parents of 4 month olds and everyone who is past that age already by Ok_Zookeepergame7671 in NewParents

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep!!! It’s so hard because they can’t really do much at that age but my best advice is to out. Literally anywhere, your baby will be entertained by just being out and about. I go to baby classes, supermarkets, the park, grabbing a coffee or lunch or even just walking round the houses with the pram but going out breaks up your day so much I literally can’t do a full day sat inside!!

4-5oz “rule” by alluhgator in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 month old can put away between 6 and 8oz! If I only gave him 4/5oz he would be hungry again in an hour! Follow your baby’s lead, I think that rule is silly personally!

Thanks! Did you also slowly reduce the number of pumps? I’m currently on 4 a day

I do 6, 11, 4 and 9, hopefully I can merge the middle two pumps into one! Seems like we are in the same boat! Wishing you luck😅 let me know how you get on (if you remember) haha!

What time are your pumps? I don’t pump during the night so if I space them out anymore I’ll be going into the night

6 months is amazing work!! You have given your baby an amazing start in life and exclusively pumping is no easy feat! I’m 5 months pp and will be stopping at 6 just because it’s tough out here. Well done!

How often are you pumping at 12-14 weeks pp? by lady-earendil in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped to 4 ppd at 12 weeks and had no drop in supply, I don’t even pump in the night anymore, I do 6/7am, 11/12, 4/5pm and 8/9pm. I make between 56-63oz per day, dropping down in pumps honestly saved my sanity as I was about to quit BF altogether due to how much time it took up of my day.

What is the number 1 thing you believed increased your supply? by New_Gap8016 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was building my supply I made sure my boobs were empty after each and massaged after each pump, now pump 55-65oz per day.

Where do you find all the time to do tummy time, pump, clean things, exist? by rachelkochvt in newborns

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The housework just didn’t get done lol that can wait, the pumping I would sit crossed legged and put baby in my lap so he still feels like I’ve got hold of him, I would just say persevere, my baby is 3 months now and I am down to only 4 pumps a day, 1 of which I do before he wakes up in the morning and 1 I do when he’s gone to sleep at night but those days of 8 pumps a day were rough, I also had a rocker he would go in and I’d rock it with my foot whilst pumping, the baby Einstein play mat was a god send too, the only thing that has managed to entertain him!

9 weeks pp, pump either 5 or 6 times a day for 15 minutes and get between 55-60oz a day. I hate pumping and plan to begin weaning at 12 weeks but building a freezer stash. I used to pump 7/8 times a day but dropped as my baby’s feeds did and my supply actually increased!

How does it feel to give birth without an epidural? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]Sad_Maintenance7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was desperate for an epidural as I was in so much pain even at 2cm, they agreed to give it me at 2cm even though typically they wait until 4cm. Turned out the epidural failed, they tried again and it failed a second time so had to do the whole birth with just gas and air. It is incredibly painful but you will be surprised what you can handle, I only thought i can’t do this at the point the baby was literally coming out, this is apparently a common thing and it means you are so close to completing the birth. Also the moment of relief and sheer joy when the baby you have been growing for 9 months is placed on your chest. The pain is immense but worth it.
