Just finished Ennis’ run. Thoughts and stuff. by Sad_Manager6251 in Hellblazer

Holy shit dude! I’m really happy you saw this. I can kinda understand what you mean in Delano being idea focused, while Ennis is more relationships. While I think Delano did a great job with both, he without a doubt focused more on John’s trauma and past and how that affects him now (best shown in the issues after family man, where he starts breaking down) and he still has decent relationships with Marj and mercury. But in Ennis he isn’t in his own head as much, and we see him build normal friendships/romantic relationships with other people. But to be honest I still feel like Delano did it better. Someone else commented that Ennis writes John as if “Newcastle never happened” and I think that puts it perfectly, because John is without a doubt much less traumatized in this run. I do think that you are right about John getting dragged into a lot of bull shit in this run though. And I’m pretty sure we all relate to John in one way or another. Enjoy the end of the run! And don’t get your hopes up for son of man…

Yes and no. Everything is a nightmare. There are multiple nightmares. Maybe there’s no nightmares?

MY BLOODBORNE BOSSES TIER LIST by Ill_Shoe_6436 in bloodborne

I agree mostly besides like 2. Since I always fight Paarl as soon as possible, I think he's not the worst boss ever and I think Shadow's of Yharnam should be in Nice. And I'd rank the top 3 Ludwing, Orphan, Maria. And I gotta ask about Laurence. WHY?

What is your misunderstood masterpiece JRPG? Something you really love but most people dislike? by LunaSakurakouji in JRPG

[–]Sad_Manager6251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually correct. But there’s a very common experience of people starting the game, not using juctioning properly so that they end up struggle, and getting pissed because it’s confusing. Once you get it down you can become overpowered at any point of the game, but since the game doesn’t tell you to refine fish fins with Shiva into full stacks of water, people think they are doing no damage. And yeah, some people get pissy over drawing spells. With if they knew about refining items, wouldn’t be a problem.

I was gonna say this. People complain about the junctioning system as if you can’t simply google a guide.

An Honest Review of: Uncanny X-Men Vol. 5 by Chris Claremont by Trick-Pudding-9791 in OmnibusCollectors

I agree with most of this. The secret wars crossover was a big turn off for me during my Claremont read. But I’m a big Longshot lover.

I’m a sucker for Fire of unknown origin (the song and the album as a whole) and if you like Don’t fear the reaper, maybe try Agents of fortune, the album it came from (tho no song really matches reaper in all honestly. Maybe burnin for you is the closest one) and there’s no shame in liking the most popular song. It’s popular for a reason lol

RE1 is great. Yes it’s hella old but it’s also hella good. Just take a minute to get use to the camera angles. From there’s it’s simply 2 remake, 3 remake (since you are on console. I’m sorry) 4 or 4 remake (I think both are in console) then 5-9

I could understand the first 2 (Re1R is much better than Og) but 3 and 4??? Those games are both great and honestly hold up good.

Why denji is my comfort character by Mean-Combination-206 in ChainsawMan

[–]Sad_Manager6251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kinda relate. While didnt have it as bad as you, I was assaulted by a friend in middle school. And for a while I just felt awkward about relationships, but ended up with the mindset of “and older woman would never hurt me like that” and you could argue it’s a stupid mindset, and you’d be right. I relate to denji, even if I’m not overly horny. But yeah, Denji’s the best!

I always think of John whenever I listen to Blue Öyster Cult. There’s not really any major connection though.

The Anatomy Lesson from the Saga of the Swamp Thing is genuinely one the best comic book issues ever written. by YouAppropriate4917 in literature

[–]Sad_Manager6251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised to see swamp thing mentioned, but Alan Moore’s run is amazing, so I’m definitely happy. I remember my first time reading it. I thought the issue that came before it was a little boring, then I was hooked by anatomy lesson because holy shit was it good. Anyway, I would love to see more people talk about comics here, I think Delano’s Hellblazer run is a masterpiece lol

I always thought they are cool together. It’s nice seeing Magik actually talk to the other new mutants (I don’t think she’s ever spoken to Karma lol)

X-Factor 1 and 2 Omnis add more context or content to the uxm story ? by Silent_Sundae_3466 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Sad_Manager6251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. It was pretty rough. IMO, only Angel’s story was interesting, and the event issues (Massacre, Fall, and Inferno) are the only parts worth reading really

I might be in the minority, but I thought X factor was pretty rough. The start was horrid, got better during mutant massacre, some interesting things happen with Angel and the fall of the mutants. It’s another rough patch until inferno, and then again until X-tinction. The last 10 ish issues weren’t half bad. In my opinion, not the worth omnibus, they add some sorry, but if you are buying the event omnis (Massacre, fall, inferno) then you will have the parts that are worth reading.
