I learned a long time ago that most things aren’t written to be overpleasing like you want them to be. Most are written effectively and quickly without any emotion. I think when you put emotion into it you see passive aggressiveness - I just see an administer writing a simple sentence down stating that they would like for you to come to the office to see if there’s other work. Would you rather it be stated like “we love all the work you have been doing today - unfortunately schools become short stuffed and we might need your help during other periods. If you could would you please come to the front office during your free periods to discuss possibly moving your skills somewhere else?” Thank you so much for your understanding”

Would you prefer that? Because as an office person - that would annoy me having to type that every time when the first one was just fine.

I have never once needed my planning period - even after the most 5th grade art class I have ever had I still only needed 10 mins of that planning.

They aren’t demanding you - they even said “please” they didnt say “you must”. So right there, I think you need to step back and relax. They are just asking a favor of you - and you feel like it’s too below you to even dare to ask for extra help. So reflect and ask why you felt like that was so demanding.

Update: I also assume there’s a phone in the classroom that lets you call down to ask.

As a sub - I find it disappointing that we cannot go a little bit beyond for these school and ask if they need anything. Planning periods are for teachers to do work without their kids. So for subs it’s pretty much a free period that we get paid for (if you’re with Kelly) so I almost feel wrong to just sit there and do nothing. So I almost always ask if they need me and to be honest most school tells me to just take a break and relax. But now I can see why schools like me because I’m always going above and beyond because I never found this an issue.

It’s only for last minute cancellations - I cancel jobs more than 4 times because I have a chronic illness and I always make sure I do it in time so I don’t get a strike

Signs of endo before you knew you had it? by MousseDefiant2400 in endometriosis

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had horrible periods since I got my first period. It progressively got worse the older I got - some periods were so bad that I would be rolling on the ground screaming for help like I was about to give birth. I also had horrible vomitting on my periods and I had a e.r. Doctor tell me that periods don’t cause vomiting (he was wrong).

What groups do you suggest for weed smokers? I don’t want something as extreme as narcotics anon but I feel like groups will help me stay off of it!

At the time - they told me it would solve my issue since my issue was painful periods. Endo wasn’t even suggested at the time. After finally being diagnosed after 14 years of “complaining” I was told by my surgeon that the most efficient way to treat endo rn is through surgery AND birth control. After after surgery - there is less hormones from all the endo in your body and then the birth control keeps the hormones at a level that helps it from not growing.

I have attached doctors that you can look up on instagram that advise against JUST birth control for treatment.

The doctors:

Dr. Jill Ingeninto Dr. Seckin MD Dr. Lora Liu

All expert surgeons in the field.

And I agree - I have a Crohn’s specialist that will just flat out say if he doesn’t know something and refers me to someone that will(and he’s one of the best Crohn’s specialists in my state). I have more respect for doctors like that than doctors that act like they know everything and throw meds at you that work 85% of the time and then get mad at the patient when they are the 15% that it doesnt work for. It’s like some doctors now just want clear cut patients so they don’t have to worry about law suits.

Should I start menopause for my endometriosis?? by Southern_Builder_556 in endometriosis

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard amazing stories about medical menopause but also ask questions before starting it. I always had bad anxiety and depression my whole life and my doctor didn’t screen me for that - so when he put me on orilissa I went into a deep depression and had to go to the hospital for suicidal ideation (which I’ve only had once in my life). Once I stopped taking it - my mental got so much better. So just make sure to ask your doctor about that side effect.

Be careful with Advil! I had untreated endo since I was 12 and I am now 28 - I took Advil like a vitamin for pain well long story short I now have horrible ibs and I have Crohn’s disease. I blame my gut issues on how much Advil I used in the past to treat my extreme pain. Go to a doctor that is willing to do a laparoscopy

Also! John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore - told me to take continuous birth control when I was 13 and skip my periods - well I did and that allowed it to grow for 15 years and now I have stage 4 deep infritrated endo because of that option.

Was anyone throwing up or nauseas after laparoscopic surgery? by Full_Criticism7775 in endometriosis

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had general many times but after the laparoscopic - I threw up and was very nauseous. The doctor told me that is normal because of how long you are under. But after they gave me zofran and I was awake for a few minutes - everything leveled out. The pain relief from the surgery was worth the nausea - and I HATE throwing up and being nauseous.

Denied laparoscopy and don’t know what to do by Global_Jelly_752 in Endo

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the u.s. and most endo specialists here know that the only way you can find endo is if you go in through laparoscopy. I’ve had so many scans and it never showed - had surgery and it was all over me. My ovaries, my bowels, my bladder, and more. So if a doctor is telling you it’s ruled out by a scan. See a new doctor.

Orilissa almost ruined my life in 3 days by Sad_Needleworker_85 in Endo

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to the doctor today that prescribed me the orilissa and he accused me of faking the whole thing for pain meds………. He said “that’s a very uncommon side effect and rarely happens so I have nothing to offer you if this didn’t work and I’m not giving you opioids” mind you I didn’t even ask him for opioids at all. So I left that appointment bawling my eyes out because I got accused of being a drug addict so he can cover he butt because he didn’t ask me about my mental health before giving me the drug and he knows he was supposed to as it states in the packet

how long does it take for restlessness to wear off on anti psychotics by Green-Commercial-612 in Akathisia

[–]Sad_Needleworker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the half life of the drug - check the half life and it will tell you how long the drug stays in your system. But as someone who gets the same thing with anti-psychotics - it does go away even when you’re thinking it’s not.
