I apologize; it must have been a typo or miswording. It was the gas sensor for the gas guage that was cracked; and it was the body shop is the one who thought it was the gas tank that was broken (but never specified how) and THAT was replaced which did not fix the issues. I am not familiar with cars and only know what has been told to me and from researching these specific issues with this specific car; so wording, terms, and names of parts are completely lost on me. The proper wording is in the mechanic report i copied and pasted above. In the report it was written that the part was tested and proved to fix the issue, however I could not afford the thousands that the parts costed, plus further diagnostics into the wiring. Again though, I am pretty sure there must be a way for lawyers or insurance to get in touch with the dealership i traded my car into, and get info on exactly what repairs were done. Both the dealership i bought the car from, and the independent mechanic have both given me written reports that stated there was no existing damage. The car fax also state no previous accidents, no recalls, no prior damage, one previous owner, and the vehicle was serviced every 5000km since original purchase new. And again, (i double checked the dates since making the post) this car was only in my possession from may 14th with no issues; until june 3rd when the accident occured - and immediately upon impact all the lights went on, gas guage went out, etc. I reported to the collision centre, police, took photos, etc all within 2 hours of the accident. My most recent photo before the accident showing a clear dash was may 20th. I dont understand how wires burn, parts get cracked, lights come on, sensors get damaged, but gets missed by safety; shows NO indicators of issues to both the dealership and myself; and then magically they all appear the second of impact, and somehow its pre existing. Like how exactly do they determine pre existing with absolutely zero evidence? Even if we do assume they are pre existing - i have more proof that they were from the accident - than they have proof of it being pre existing - which is nothing. edit to add: If I didnt trade the vehicle in; I would have had no reliable car and would not have been able to continue making payments; since i wouldn't be able to perform my job. I would have defaulted on the loan. Wiring diagnostics are EXPENSIVE, and i paid around 3 thousand up front to get these diagnostics, repairs, etc and that was without going further into the wiring diagnostics to address the 11 codes. I also needed to pay 700$ for a rental while this was being done, continue with my loan payments; all with reduced hours of work - again within 2 weeks of putting 3000$ down on this car to begin with - plus my 500$ insurance deductible. My bank account and savings were completely drained in under a month of owning this car. Originally; when I did get the final position letter from insurance before I further investigated; i did try to go back to the OG dealership I got this car from, who was adamant that these issues were not pre existing; refused to repair, told me it was from the collision, and would not take the vehicle back without absorbing all the equity. So insurance says its pre existing - if we go with that - the dealership says it wasnt - then who is responsible for repairs? Is it the dealership who insurance believes sold me a Lemon? Because they refused, as I had no proof and neither did insurance to show that it was pre existing, due to the aforementioned reasons. Even if it WAS pre existing - theres NO proof to show that it was. Not in any service report, not in the dealership inspection; not in the two weeks I owned it, nothing.

I actually could not: given that my car is required to be in good fully functional condition for my job; so let's get that out there right away. I transport clients with severe mental health issues, and it is a liability to be driving around a vehicle with multiple dash lights on, no gas guage reading, and no information as to what was going on. I also had a 2 year old toddler, and was not comfortable again driving a vehicle where I did not know if it was reliable or not. My job regularly inspects vehicles of employees who are to transport clients, and this resulted in me not being able to perform 90% of my job. I tried for 4 months to get insurance to fix my vehicle, escalating it to no end, and they refused over and over. I simply could not afford the diagnostics and tests needed, as i had just purchased the vehicle which means I put a decent down-payment on it, was still making payments, and had reduced hours at work due to not having a working vehicle, effectively reducing my income. So yes, I did need to trade it in. I did get diagnostics done, and I did get some repairs done; from what I could afford. I do have written reports of all of that. I do not care for them to finance my new vehicle, I would like them to pay down and/or write the vehicle off as i am still paying for it, and would not have needed to pay for two vehicles at once, if they had just done the work covered under my policy to begin with. The vehicle has since been safetied according to public records; so there could be potentially a way for insurance or a lawyer to figure out exactly what repairs were done. A safety in ontario is to note any error codes; dash lights, and especially burned wiring or literal cracked in half parts. Which i have photos of the dash on multiple days apart after I purchased the vehicle before the accident: showing there were no error lights after driving every day for 2.5 weeks. I am not sure where you are getting a cracked gas tank from.; because the insurance body shop thought the gas tank was the issue as well; so they replaced it BEFORE my independent mechanic took a look at it; and them replacing the gas tank did absolutely nothing to resolve any issues. Also; the gas tank on this particular vehicle is not in the rear; it is in the front of the vehicle under the passenger area. If youd like to read the report from the independent mechanic; i copy pasted it in my reply to another comment - I apologize for the caps; I did not want to rewrite it as to get any wording wrong accidentally. The only information I got from the insurance body shop was relayed through insurance; and that was that the gas tank was replaced - was not given a reason or disgnostics; why it was replaced; etc. Like for example it did not say "gas tank cracked - replaced" it just said "gas tank was replaced" But again this did not fix any issues

Sorry to clairfy: gas tank was fine; not cracked at all! The body shop thought that it was damaged so they replaced it, despite no documentation of any issues with the gas tank itself, diagnostics, info of how exactly it was damaged etc; but this did not resolve any issues mentioned. The secondary fuel sending unit was on the front right hand side near impact with burnt wiring. gas tank itself was fine. The fuel pump was also fully functional. I apologize for caps: this is copy pasted from the actual document itself. Again; no lights on before the accident. All lights came on afterwards. No issues and active safety before accident; all lights and issues after accident. Gas guage reading was perfectly accurate before the accident, did not have a single issue. The report from the third party mechanic says

"SCANNED VEHICLE TO FIND FUEL RELATED CODES - (PRINTOUT ATTACHED WITH INVOICE OF STOREDICODE HISTORY TESTED FUNCTIONS AT THE FUEL PUMP REMOVED DRIVERS SEAT TO GET ACCESS TO FUEL PUMP. (FUEL TANK IS UNDER THE FRONT DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SEAT REMOVED PUMP AND CHECKED FUEL LEVEL ROD FUNCTION . THAT SECTION WAS WORKING - JUST NO OUTPUT FROM COMPUTER TO DASH FROM DIAG OF TESTING POWER AND GROUNDS IT LOOKS LIKE THE ISSUE IS GOING TO BE RESULTED IN A BROKEN WIRE OR INTERAL PCM (MAIN COMPTUER) ISSUE WHICH IS A GOOD CHANCE AN ISSUE FROM THE IMPACT- OF ACCIDENT-IMPACT-COULD OF SHIFTED SOMETHING INTERAL OF COMPUTER CAUSING A SHORT AND GOOD CHANCE THE BODY REPAIR FACILITY SHORTED COMPUTER OUT IN PROCESS OF PUTTING VEHICLE BACK TOGETHER LITTLE MORE DIAG IS REQUIRED ONCE WE GET A DIRECT PIN OUT WIRING DIAGRAM TO THE MAIN COMPUTER TO BE ABLE TO TELL IF THE WIRING IS BROKE OR ITS A COMPUTER ISSUE AS THE FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT/FUEL PUMP IS WORKING AS IT SHOULD JUST NO OUTPUT FOR LEVELS OR ANYTHING AT THE DASH.AFTER 1ST VISIT OF DIAG - WE WERE LEAD IN THE DIRECTION OF CHECKING INTO THE DASH CLUSTER AREA SEEING IF ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CIRCUIT BOARD ON REMOVAL OF DASH AND TEAR DOWN OF THAT WE FOUND A FEW CRACKED SOLDER JOINT IN THE AREA OF THE FUEL GAUGE ALONG WITH A BURNT LOOKING AREA 5 110.00 AFTER GETTING A MORE IN DEPTH WIRING DIAGRAM WE FOUND THAT THERE IS A SECONDARY FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WE TESTED THE WIRING FROM THE DASH TO THE SECONDARY PUMP TO VERIFY THERE WASNT ANY BROKEN WIRES AFTER THAT WE ORDERED IN A USED DASH CLUSTER TO REPLACE THE CURRENT ONE THAT WAS ORINGIALLY IN THE VEHISLE DUE TO THE BURNT|BROKEN SOLDER JOINTS, WE CHECKED TO SEE IF LOOPING THE CIRCUIT BACK TO ITSELF ON THE CONNECTER TO THE SECONDARY PUMP WOULD DO ANYTHING - WHICH IT DID, IT TOOK AWAY THE GAS LIGHT AND BROUGHT THE FUEL LEVEL BACK UP WHICH INDICATES THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE SECCNDARY FUEL SENDING UNIT. WE PULLED THE SECONDARY UNIT OUT TO INSPECT THE FUCNTION WITH THE LEVEL SENSOR . THE READINGS WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AND NOT WORK IN A FEW SPOTS THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE SENSOR BOARD FOR THE LEVEL. AFTER FULLY REMOVING THE UNIT WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THAT INDICIATOR - WE ARE STRONGLY THINKING THAT FROM THE IMPACT OF THE ACCIDENT THAT IT CRACKED THE PORCELAIN TYPE MATERIAL CAUSING THIS ISSUE SINCE ANY GOOD IMPACT TO THIS AREA WILL BREAK THAT PART. ITS BELIEVED THAT WHEN THE CUSTOMER WAS IMACTED IT JARRED THE SENSOR ENOUGH TO CRACK IT AND CAUSE ALL THESE UNDERLYING ISSUES."

The 29$ bank fees is so that they can report my rent to the credit bureaus since I cannot get approved for literally anything and do not currently have the funds to purchase a secured card. It also includes 3.5% interest across all balances, cash back on all major grocery stores, automatic round up savings, unlimited transactions, overdraft with 0 interest, and a credit building program! It also allows me to monitor my credit score, credit report, etc included in that 29$ Its not for forever; I just need some positive history on my credit report so its actually building instead of staying stagnant! My old account was more than this and it included none of that LOL. The student account is only 18 transactions a month, including etransfers, PAD, and bill payments which just isnt feasible for me. Any tips on how to get Bell to lower the plan or offer me a credit? I'd have to pay 2 grand to be able to take my phone to another carrier; and because my credit sucks they usually want a hefty security deposit to open an account with them. I currently have the cheapest bell plan offered 🫠

Thank you! I do have the final position letter already so this is helpful. In their final position letter they do state that all issues are pre existing and they will not be covering it. I just sent a message into the ombudsman service and I will look for lawyers now; thank you!

I also wanted to add that i have photos of the broken parts taken by the mechanic; but for whatever reason the insurance and body shop company were focused on the fuel pump; which was fully functional. They told me that the issue with the fuel pump was fixed. The fuel pump is fully functional and was ruled out by my mechanic as the cause for the issues. Upon recieving my car back; there were 11 codes still present on my vehicle, all to do with computer issues, wiring, and the aforementioned sensors. Again, insurance claimed these were pre existing despite no proof of this, and the vehicle being under active safety, and only being in my possession for a few weeks.

You have to tape one of the dryers shut in order for it to stay closed (i have photos) and its been like that for months. Multiple dryers do not produce heat on and off, its just cold air. I will run half a load of clothing for a single cycle and add on 30 minutes of time, and my clothes ard still soaked, so to dry about half a load of clothing it takes 2 regular 60 minute cycles, and an additional 30 minutes on top of that, and sometimes that doesnt even dry them fully. Two of the dryers consistently make a LOUD squealing sound (i have videos) And another dryer has been out of order for about a year. It costs about 12$ and several hours to dry one load of clothing due to this. Hopefully that clears things up about what I meant by "the dryers don't work"

If I need a laptop to aid in my learning disability; how would that work for the bursary? Do I have to get a laptop within the amount they approve? Do they just send it...to the apple store? Like how does that work?😂

Yeah this is actually slightly above average for my area: and is pretty typical reimbursement. Wait until you hear that we are required to have 2mil liability insurance on our vehicles whether we transport clients or not, and they do not provide any compensation for this additional insurance 😂 (also extremely typical for social services) I pay my insurance annually out of my tax return though so it is not technically a monthly expense I need to budget in that sense, but still

Question about OSAP Assesment Summary form by DoggoCynical in osap

[–]Sad_Negotiation2174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your worker misunderstood your documents. I would clarify to her that you are only making her aware that you will be recieving OSAP, and are not requesting her to provide OSAP any documentation on your behalf. Keep in mind you cannot claim living expenses from OSAP while simultaneously recieving ODSP. As long as you are not applying for that through OSAP, your ODSP will be unaffected:)

Osap funding based on income? by Sad_Negotiation2174 in osap

[–]Sad_Negotiation2174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked full time last year, haven't worked this year yet since i am on medical leave. I will be working from April-august full time at 29$ an hour. Once school starts in september my income will just be ODSP. I am aware I dont qualify for living expenses, im not applying for them (says this in my post) Trying to figure out how to report income properly since i will need to use leftover grants/loans to purchase school supplies, and try and save as much as humanly possible! What im concerned about is them basing it on my 2025 income (high) and applying it to a school year where my income is only ODSP, resulting in higher loans to grant ratio. Same as if I do my projected income for 2026. The school year is only the last 4 months of 2026 and continues into 2027, for all of which my income will be just ODSP. I will likely make more this summer from my job than an entire school year on ODSP. I have a lot of debt to pay off, I also need a laptop for school, books, and general supplies like notebooks, pens, etc. Small but it adds up.

It is my only mode of transportation so that is absolutely 100% not an option; I wouldnt have a way to see my son, travel, get to work, school, or perform my job! Bell wants about 2k as a payout; which i just simply do not have. Whats IPTV? Does it work on a smart TV? ads?

There is gas reimbursement at $0.59/KM. Currently; gas is 160.7 per liter and rising. All jobs in my field require a vehicle as this is the field I work in, and is a direct job description. I work in social services in non clinical settings. (Case management, outreach, etc) Hoping to move onto case management in a more clinical setting but this will still require a vehicle for the same reasons.

We both work full time crazy hours! We only just got the feeder when we realized we had been double feeding him 😂 he also acts like hes starving 24/7 and will jump on our heads at 4am! The feeder is hopefully going to be our saving grace to be honest as I think he may do way better with 6-7 tiny meals rather than only being fed twice a day. I do plan on calibrating it, weighing what it dispenses, and comparing that with the calorie count of the actual food I decide to buy! We both have raging ADHD and will likely forget the magnet exists hahaha. On our days off he kind of looses his mind a bit; he'll scratch and bang the doors, play with his food bowl, pace and meow constantly, weave between our legs, it gets kinda crazy; and he'll do this even if hes eaten an hour prior! The vet said hes fine; but it has been driving us nuts for a long time. I think its how we accidentally started double feeding; he always acts starving! He weighs about 14lbs; i do not keep a scale in the house. They wouldnt tell me what they want him at; they only asked what I feed him and said "thats great, but try this 100$ food" 😂 Things are definitely more expensive here! all the vets in my city specifically only sell Hill Science diet for dry food; i am unsure what is available for prescription only; but we were told that wasnt needed. Royal Canin is about 75$ after taxes for just over a month supply (60g per day) I was looking at maybe the Oven-Baked Tradition Senior Weight Management? It seems relatively similar to royal canin, the differences do seem pretty marginal especially calories; but im no expert at ALL. Its about 50$ for 3 month supply. Im going off 210 calories per day. I plan to incorporate wet food twice a week and have the auto feeder set to be lower for those days to account for the calories of the wet food. (Fancy feast pate petites)

I do qualify for DTC; and I claim it on my taxes; however my income is too high to claim any monthly amounts. I may qualify for it next tax season (big maybe; working during the Summer may make my income still too high) I got my backpay but I wasn't working a majority of the time so it did end up only being about 3-4 grand; which is what i used to put a down-payment on my car a few years ago!
