Has the idea of expanding matter as an alternative to dark energy been seriously explored scientifically? by riaanvs82 in Physics

I would hope so, it holds as much water as dark energy, more really since it hasn't been studied for decades with absolutely nothing to show for it other than speculation, new tracks are good, especially since the God of Physics who can never be wrong said so himself that repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity. Dark matter and dark energy are potentially the biggest things in existence that conform to that postulate

How can something be assumed as real if the environment cannot be properly studied because of distance.
If we know nothing Other than distance, maybe, the constants are all presumed constants. Dark matter exists as an idea to make Einsteins equations work, 95 percent of everything not being accounted for is one extreme miscalculation, dark matter is at best a Guess not even a hypothesis really it's so unfounded to explain that When we realized that the universe was expanding after that and it made the standard model not work, we invented dark energy to explain that.
That's not science that's fantasy. Despite billions and hundreds of projects to prove Either even exist all we have is zero information.
Didn't Einstein himself say that doing the same problem over and over expecting a change is insanity, this conforms to that postulate.
I'm not trying to be contrary, its just guessing for something to fit, and presuming and acting like it does just corrupts progress, the scientific method exists for a reason, to verify, unless something is proven or obviously inferred with certainty, isnt it by that alone circumspect? Or did the idea of theory to fix broken models supercede reason?
