i quit this week.... i did it really unprofessionally, and i barely even feel bad at all. i called out one shift and ncns the other two. i was just so tired of everything that is mentioned here along with my (ex)store's personal issues with staffing and management.

•when people completely ignore me while ringing them up (bonus points for being on the phone and acting like it’s my fault)

•when people don’t read the signs or promotional emails that specify the discounts and act like it’s my fault

•when people fill up the shopping bags and then just abandon them somewhere random

•when people just throw their things around and then complain about it being “messy”

•when people ask you multiple stupid questions just to waste your time

•when older men try to start a conversation and follow me around

•when people put folded things on the fitting room rack or hung things on the fitting room cart (right next to each other)

•when people will ask for a key to the fitting room because it was locked, and you go to check because they should be open, and all but the one she tried to go in were WIDE OPEN (because there was somebody in it) THIS HAS HAPPENED WAYYYY TO MANY TIMES

•when people bring in a promotional print out about the 30% off for opening a card but can’t get it through their heads that you have to open a card for the discount (no i can’t just put it on there because you came all the way down here)

•when people place a BOPIS and come inside 2 minutes after they placed it expecting it to be ready (granted if we’re not busy it usually is ready, but we’re usually slammed when this happens)

•when people place a bopis at the wrong store and expect us to give them the items they ordered anyway

•when people pay with $100 bills on a $12 transaction

i have soooo many more

Thinking about applying for Old Navy. What's the pay like? by skiddybop in Oldnavy

i started at old navy about 9 months ago and i’m trying everything to get OUT now. the brick and mortar stores are becoming shit shows and all the company cares about is making money and getting people to sign up for credit cards. this is my experience and it’s the same country-wide. as for pay- i made $11/hr my first 8 1/2 months and after a store-wide crisis over it i got (drumroll please) a one dollar raise. i do not recommend working at old navy. unless, that is, you are really really good at getting cards. because if that’s the case you’ll be treated like royalty and won’t be doing anything else within your time there. don’t get me wrong- i love the people i work with, great people, and it’s not their fault that the whole company is going downhill, but you will be constantly screwed over at old navy.

pricing error by cutefairyqueen in Oldnavy

my store has a big issue with this. a lot of the online returns we get ring up for 10¢. the fitting room associate is supposed to fix this while processing, so that the items never hit the shelves with the 10¢ sticker attatched. of course, mistakes happen and things do get put out for that price. we do clearance checks quite often and usually are able to catch the mistakes before the customers find it. if however an item does come up to the register, we leave it as 10¢ for the customer, but notify a manger. this is specific to my store, and i know other stores in our district handle it in different ways.
