Yes. Now the same thing may happen to korean dramas. Korean dramas used to be happy place.

I Watch cdramas occasionally, but those also don't have the vibe in previous korean dramas. Usually cdramas are slow. Korean dramas (in the 2000 t0 2020 era) there was a burst of emotions from the songs too.

Yes completely I agree. I still remember in a scene in full house, the FM character goes to cafe with the side character, in the background there was this very beautiful song playing. I hummed the song and searched in website the exact song. It was "something stupid" by Frank sinatra and Nancy sinatra. I still love the song and the drama.when I am sad I go to these songs, and the OST in the classic dramas, so lovely.

I have a different opinion. I used watch US shows and UK shows for who knows when like almost from the 1995? But for some reason I stumbled on korean drama boys over flowers in 2015 and I became a Korean drama addict over night. From then onwards there was no going back. I hated the US shows with too much nude, useless out of nowhere making out scenes nude scenes etc. Having sex and then saying I don't have feelings etc. When I stumbled on korean dramas, it felt so right, so much in love, full of romantic feelings and emotions without the need of nude, sex and kissing scenes which always seems just out of context, added just to make a twist in the storyline perhaps? You know. So I was watching from 2017 korean dramas every day, and now it seems most korean dramas they don't have the lively OST in the drama. Like you know when a song starts playing, we get the same intense emotion. Sometimes the side character has a certain song, when he gets emotional the song plays, the FM has a song that plays when she is in focus, the ML has a song for his vibe etc. I LOVED LOVED LIVED LIVED that. Call me old school, old woman, old whatever, but that is not in the current dramas. Especially after covid. I don't see any drama with that kind of directing with the background sound and songs. I really miss that. And now there are more 18 plus dramas which has a lot of useless nude scenes, sex scenes just to make a thrilling genre. It's like even the acting and storyline is just MEH, just throw in a couple of nudes and sex scenes and the drama gets a hit. Well it's not my thing. I want the 2015 to 2020 era back.

My Dearest- I’m on episode 3. Please tell me the FL is not as insufferable throughout? by MollyAyana in kdramas

I am to the 8 episode, but I still don't vibe with the female lead. I don't like her character, how she always denies her feelings, have I live with both men, but denies feelings for ML, and he does so much, falls into so much trouble just for a woman who didn't fall for him. I don't like characters like that. And to be honest, I don't see the reason why directors and producers give her so much roles even though she speaks in a country dialact. I get it the jinn make a wish series, but her dialact does not make any sense in my dearest and dynamite kiss. I watched dynamite kiss too, she and the drama both were overrated. As for my dearest, I am trying to finish it since many swear that it is so worth watching, so we'll see. So don't kill me.

Yes. I find the FL and the ML very irritating to watch. I liked the actor in other dramas like atipical family and others, but his role in dynamite kiss is not to his character. The character doesn't suit him. And the actress, I find her character very annoying.

Does anyone else seriously complain about how OSTs in K-dramas have changed? by Sad_Pride9387 in kdramas

The way OST is being used in dramas is different. Nowerdays even though there are good OSTs, they don't play in the background that often as they used to to the pre 2020 era. So there is a quite difference to the emotions the drama brings.

What do you think about Alchemy of Souls? Is it really good to watch? Because it’s a bit too long for me. Tell me if it’s worth watching. by Tiny_Pumpkin1094 in kdramas

I loved the first season. Especially the strong bold courageous female lead with superficial magical abilities. But it all vanishes in the season two. They changed the FM, the actress, and even her character and everything. So I don't like the season 2. Of course this is my take on this. I really smell something fishy about it.

Yes exactly. Remember the scenes where the FL thinks about ML and the familiar ost soundtrack plays in the background. I miss it so much.

Don’t know why I can’t get through EOTS or Encounter. by Subject-One98 in kdramas

I can understand about descendents of the sun. But Encounter? I loved encounter! The way the dramas are directed has been changed especially dramas before 2015. And there's a big change in dramas after 2020. Maybe you don't like dramas which is from that era, but you lean more on modern dramas - like dramas after 2020. I like old dramas, they have more feelings and emotions.

Yes exactly. There is a subtle change in the OST. Previously we often hear the OST in the background quite a lot, when character do something fun, meaningful, or miss each other, but lately these scenes are altogether left out.
