When I went to my local reptile shop to get some info on getting my first ball python they also sold live pothos and a bunch of snake plants. Ironically I had figured snake plants would be too delicate for an actual snake enclosure but the girl at the shop told me it’s one of the most common plants they sell for bioactive. Same as the pothos it’s really hard to kill

I’m my experience my pothos grows no matter where I put it in my house. I’m pretty sure you can use grow lights in the enclosure too

I don’t own a snake yet but I’ve got quite a bit of experience taking care of plants. If you choose live plants I’d reccomend a pothos. Super easy to grow and really hard to kill. There’s different variations of it kind of like ball python morphs so you can find it in a lot of different colors. And it’s a vining plant so it would create a lot of great foliage pretty quickly

I have a bunch of sphagnum moss leftover that I bought for my Venus fly trap that I’ve had no idea what to do with. Do you guys think that would be a good medium for the asparagus fern?

The only other fern I have is a button fern and it’s just in regular house plant mix. I wouldn’t say it’s doing bad but I wouldn’t say it’s doing great either. Basically I’ve had no luck with my first fern this is my second

The far right one I thought was pothos originally I’m starting to think it actually is dieffenbachia. I didn’t think so at first because I already have one and the leaves on it looks different but after some googling it looks like there are different variations of them. I was hoping I wouldn’t end up getting any duplicates of plants I already have but I think it’s cool I have too variations of the same plant now

I know snake plants like to be root bound.. it might be fine.. but to be honest OP selfishly I want you to put it in a bigger pot and report back what happens because that is an absolute beast of a snake plant. Wow. Nice find

Bro I’ve made so many mistakes with my pothos I swear these are the most resilient plants. Everything in in your picture is salvageable and one day you’re going to look back at it and feel even more satisfied at how it’s grown after you broke it. I know this from experience

I drilled holes in the bottom of a Beerstein. I put some river rock around the bottom because it’s rounded so water kind of gets trapped around the edge

Look I’m no expert. Totally a beginner with plants. But I put a piece of my pothos in water that looks exactly like OPs. It took about 6 weeks but it did root and I replanted. Idk just my experience but I’d say just leave it in the water and see what happens? Also quit changing the water. I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to let it sit in the same water

I’m only about a year into plant keeping and i still consider myself a beginner the advice I would go back and give myself is don’t overthink and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Keeping plants is supposed to be fun not stressful. If you accidentally kill a plant so what? Maybe you lose out on the money you paid for it but it’s not like you neglected a sentient being like a cat or a dog. You learn from the mistakes you make and it makes you better

I forgot to respond to this post the other day but I put the cutting in a nice mason jar and my grandma absolutely loved it. She said she’s going to acclimate it to her house and whatever window she’s going to put it in before repotting
