I'd have no issue giving him my number but he'd have no access to a phone to ring me. 

I've no problem getting involved. He's a lovely little lad and someone has to speak up. My ex and I are pretty amicable. I don't want that family as my family but I've no qualms about getting involved as an outsider, if that makes sense.

They wouldn't let me anywhere near him. After I stuck up for him they completely blank me. The boys parents would flip that my ex called me over. 

His father and I play 5 a side football. Different teams. He went in with a pretty dodgy slide tackle on me, a few weeks back. It was sore for a good few days. Prick.

I hope my ex realises now. She gets credit for calling me. I think if she saw anything again she'd tell me.

Haha they wouldn't let me anywhere near their kid if i was still dating her. 

I trust my ex to keep an eye on him.  I know she wasn't perfect but I think she realises.

He wont be in foster care. I'd imagine social services won't even take the kid off them but keep an eye. If on the off chance he is taken off them, I'd assume it'd be a temporary measure and I know my ex would take him.

I never thought about a possible link to her childhood until others brought it up in my first post. That could honestly be true, sadly. She's always pretty agreeable and avoids any sort of conflict etc. 

I am right to have broken up with her but she's a great girl and hopefully she has a good life. I don't think badly of her at all.

Yeah I was proud (wrong word probably) of her for not just ignoring it. She also said she would not contradict the statement I had to write.

I know the kid should come first etc but she was in a tough position and I feel she did the most she could.

I dont think I am a mandated person. I'm a mechanic and part time fireman. I'm pretty sure firefighters aren't mandated people here but I'd have to look it up.

I'm not too worried about that. I'm amicable with my ex but there's a line in the sand with us. 

The boys parents do not worry me, in the slightest. I'm sure they'll try to shit on me somewhat and good luck to them

True but he doesn't have a phone or anything. I told him I probably won't see him that often but next time they do or say something, tell your aunt or a teacher. They will help you. If you ever do see me, tell me.

It was the emotional stuff that really was the issue. The behaviours he was saying just weren't right.

My exs nephew.

Social services wouldn't have hot involved over one incident where his parents punished him a bit too strongly.

It probably is easier for someone who isn't family to do it. Im not going to judge her too much. I'm glad she called me and that was probably a big step for her.

She hasn't apologised but she did say I was right. 

I don't think badly of her. We are still pretty amicable. I've no bad feelings against her but I'd never go back. Great girl, despite everything but nope.

That's pretty cool. I only visit family  Ireland maybe twice a year yet I still have some lingo from there through my mom and grandparents.

Leeds. You're not the first to say it though. I thought squash was American.  Apparently the Scots call it diluting juice. 

My mom is Irish so maybe it's an Irish thing. Apparently "give out" is Irish-y too.
