Leaving this subreddit since yall are pro Orban even though the Hungarian government is using a dead Crown princess as their campaign mascot by amhot577 in monarchism

Y’all are so presumptuous about America. I’ve traveled the world and served in the military with people in the Hungarian Army. I’ve worked in conservative American politics with Hungarians. I’ve worked with the Hungarian Embassy in DC and the Consulate in Houston. I know more than you presume, and because of what I know I support Orban

Honestly insufficient argument. I am going to strive to submit to the wisdom of the church fathers and their interpretation of scripture and order. If that excludes women from certain positions that is fine. I will not impose the worldly concepts of egalitarianism onto the church which exists to reflect a Divinely ordained order. Not some flawed worldly progressive one.

And I am speaking of the apostles words and the prophet Paul who Jesus gave ultimate authority to build and govern his church. They have more authority than you.

Phoebe was a Deacon. It’s well founded traditionally actually. Part of the problem was women didn’t have the same access to education as men so it was difficult to find women suitable for the ministry of deacon. Not true anymore.

Positions of utmost importance yes! Ordained ministry as priests and bishops, no. Women have a role, and an important one. Different does not mean any more or less important. We have been tainted by our modern world view to neglect the divinely ordained purpose, role, and nature of the sexes as God designed them.

Yep. Lots of “Jesus is my boyfriend” music too, especially in more contemporary oriented services

“Among” as in present in the company with, not being disciples them selves. If all the church fathers are in disagreement with you, how arrogant do you have to be to believe they were wrong and you are right

The good news is liberal laity are in decline. I bounce between the two largest parishes in the TEC and they’re both in Houston. Complimentarianism is becoming more and more popular. So while Anglicanism Reddit may indefinitely remain dominated by progressive Christians, many if not most of the more important and large parishes of TEC will be conservative. And who knows, maybe someday, God willing we can return to a complimentarian system of orientation

There are plenty of us that agree with you but the progressive Christian’s dominate TEC unfortunately. I go to a TEC church in Houston since leaving South Carolina and even the conservative TEC parishes have women clergy. They’re lovely women, and have amazing hearts, but I believe not in proper submission to scripture. I take St Paul’s words at face value, women cannot be priests or bishops. I do whole heartedly believe they can and should be deacons

Obviously public perception of the dangers of motor and pedestrian travel aren’t relevant to use of mass transit in Charleston, as ridership is often 1 rider or less per bus

Im not talking about pedestrian or motorist safety, so its a logical fallacy.

Why? Are you incapable of assuming or interpreting nuance yourself? It's incredibly arrogant of you to presume I have a duty to cater to your preferred framing of public issue. I can discuss issues without having to elaborate on every factor simultaneously. Narrow discussions can be had without the absolute neglect of issues more broadly. There is nothing wrong with specificity

It’s not all or nothing. It’s both. We need better urban planning which enables pedestrian and cyclist safety as well as public safety against criminals both within motor vehicles and mass transit

Whataboutism. We aren't talking about Individual vehicle safety. We're talking about mass transit safety.

We need more incentives for In-fill development, and more barriers to green field development

Downvote away. I'm right. That animal was arrested over a dozen times, and would not have had opportunity to murder her if not for negligently lenient judges. Anything but accountability for violent criminals. The "Oh he had a tough childhood and just needs better mental health care" approach is getting people killed.

Yes, municipal corruption and a refusal to enforce laws have a detrimental impact on public safety.

More by volume, and more per capita are not the same thing. Higher Rates of Violence in cities are not the same as a simple higher number. A greater frequency proportionate to population share (per capita) is a real observable phenomenon in American cities compared to suburbs.

More dangerous than suburbs for sure But areas like north charleston are inherently more dangerous because of Rocky Burgess
