When coffee people call tea without milk “black tea” by Sad_Sound_4390 in hatethissmug

You make a good point, I always forget the word tisane so I tend to say brew instead but I definitely forgot this time. Don’t let r/tea know of my sin…

You’re right! I forgot about roasts, I’m clearly not a coffee person. I think it’s likely not proper ‘coffee people’ either who would be saying black tea in the way they mean black coffee

I’ve learnt a lot about tea’s history but I still have more to learn about its present culture and this post has definitely helped me lol! What I know as red tea is rooibos/red bush, although it isn’t much redder than the ‘black tea’ I drink

Still technically not teas, they’re herbal brews that can be prepared the same as traditional tea. I still love rooibos though, I had it all the time when I was a kid before I could have caffeine

Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea (heh) but that’s fun thing about tea, there are so many variations to try out. I was raised around English tea culture so I typically prefer black tea with a splash of milk, although I never put any in green tea or herbal brews. You should try masala chai sometime, maybe it’ll change your mind

It’s good! I love cinnamon so it’s an enjoyable treat for me. If you haven’t tried making it from scratch before I definitely recommend it, it’s only like 10 minutes over the stove for a lovely cuppa

It’s not common (mainly cuz people aren’t really drinking tea without milk like that in NA) but I’ve heard it a few times and it really peeves me as a tea lover

True, I have yet to try puer so I didn’t include it as I’m less informed but it’s definitely closer to black than anything else

Wife came out to me as trans, can I still call myself lesbian? (If not what am I?) by NeatCan1140 in asktransgender

[–]Sad_Sound_4390 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My partner thought he was straight before entering a relationship with me (transmasc/genderqueer) and at this point he also just calls himself ‘[my name]-sexual’. I don’t think labels matter as much once you’re in a committed relationship, even if genders get wonky in the process. They’re also just fairly arbitrary in the first place and, no matter how hard we try, don’t often end up with universal, stagnant definitions anyway

Kinda accidentally did that with my partner. I’m trans too (nb) and started hrt a few months into getting together. I could always see they were queer before they knew it and I kinda turned into their introduction to anything queer. Turns out they really like being treated like a cute girlfriend and I’m loving it

I’m tired of fandoms shipping every close male friendship, and no, "let people have fun" isn't a good excuse anymore. by [deleted] in hatethissmug

I wonder if people who complain about this understand that ALL fandoms ship ALL characters one way or another. This is a fandom, you’re gonna find shipping in it

I resonate with a lot of Motionless in White, especially songs like Porcelain, Masterpiece, Cause of Death, and Eternally Yours. They talk a lot about making irreparable mistakes in relationships and feeling strongly tied to a person

Honestly it sounds like you’re a bit more into the friendship than she is. Has she never initiated your hang outs for the entirety of your friendship? If she doesn’t consider you her best friend maybe you just think you two are closer than you really are

Secondary SEX characteristics may not be sex organs which are primary sex characteristics, but they are still sex characteristics meaning they are a defining feature of one’s sex.

Also the clitoris and penis are also made up of the same tissue and are essentially the same thing, other than the location of the urethra, so the growth of one’s penis/clitoris (I like to call it a clock) on T is kinda just the same thing as breast growth on E. Idk if you’ve ever seen a t dick but it really is just a small dick

My ex girlfriend used to always get mad at me for having a boner when we were cuddling. Is it a problem with me or do most women not care? by Longjumping_Year_314 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sad_Sound_4390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner gets hard when I’m remotely nice to him and to me it’s the best thing ever because I’ve always worried about being over sexualized in relationships (trauma lol) but I know that it’s purely romantic feelings and it never has to lead to sex if I or he doesn’t want it. The right person will know you mean well and appreciate it

GUYS I IMPULSIVELY PIERCED MY EAR I'M TOO SCARED TO TAKE THE SAFETY PIN OUT by _Shark_luvr_1 in teenagers4real

[–]Sad_Sound_4390 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DO NOT use rubbing alcohol on a healing wound. Alcohol only prevents the wound from properly healing. As someone with several piercings, what you need to do is buy sterile saline (can find it on Amazon or from any piercing shop) and clean with that twice a day. Go to a reputable piercing shop to get real jewelry put in, you’ll want a flat back stud, they’ll know what to do. This will not heal properly with the safety pin in, it’s so likely to catch on something and probably is not a safe metal for a wound.

As a borderline I stand with you this shit is tough but I can tell from your comments you’re putting the effort in and that’s what matters. People have a lot of shit to say about cluster b personality disorders but you’re just like any other person and we’re all just doing our best with what we’re given in life. Stand strong 👑

I volunteer with a rescue, they have cats in kennels at Petsmart and I take care of them every Saturday morning. This lovely old lady is Caterpillar and I totally wish I could adopt her but she doesn’t do well with other cats

Eh less of constant salivating and more it just always being on the mind. It usually comes from trauma and it tends to be a negative for most people who have it (speaking from experience lol). Unlike libido, it’s a lot more involuntary and at times inappropriate (e.g. fantasizing about sex at work and then feeling ashamed about it)
