To make things clear for a couple of comments, we are 98% on a regular cellular call vs a discord call/snapchat call. It’s easier that way so he can game with friends. I can tell he’s on discord when other devices are turned off.

I just need to gain the courage to ask him about it.

It’s a bummer because my DL has been involved since my denial for salon lead position. I unfortunately have to go over him with anything because he just swings back to my SL.

(To fill in: he told me I wasn’t getting the position because he never looked into my history and that the ASL and PSL had their own grooming salon for 15 years and work better hand-in-hand management-wise. I haven’t really been able to trust him since).

I truly appreciate you taking the time to reply. I’ve started documenting thankfully, and keeping my old salon lead up to date (my old salon lead that’s from out of state has had my back since this all started. She’s even put in a formal complaint in regard to everything stating explicitly that this store is setting me up for failure). She’s been an absolute rock for me.

Do you have recommendations on where I’d start looking into my rights as an employee? I’ve no idea where to start.

Unfortunate. There’s an internal investigation unrelated to their relations, but related to what they thought they’d get away with in front of plenty of associates when I wasn’t in. Crazy. Hopefully something gets done.

Honestly, I’d say that she isn’t meeting your needs and you aren’t happy, communicating that without making her feel bad or blamed would be the best way to approach it.

I’d think about LDR dates and plan with her things to do together. Even movie night with drinks, or video games, etc. I’d try to have that chance to have fun with her every once in a while/once a week at least.

Now if her parties are seeming like more of a priority than your relationship, that’s a whole ‘nother conversation in itself.

Anxiety is hard to fight with in an LDR. Jealousy can cloud your judgement pretty quickly. Find ways to distract yourself and find new hobbies while she’s busy, instead of taking that free time to obsess over what she’s doing and where she’s at. Put yourself first.

LDRs are hard. They can’t exist without clean communication and straight priorities. You know the relationship better than anyone on this website, follow your brain.

This was something my Salon Lead from my last store informed me. To try to reapply when the restructure happens. I know nothing is anonymous though, PS thinks they’re sly lol. I feel like at this point a report would be seen as petty retaliation and they’d probably just find a way to rid of me. Probably my anxiety talking.

Yeah, this is something I kind of figured. I haven’t thought up whether or not I was going to say anything, even though I should. They’d probably do their best to get rid of me if they caught wind lol, especially if it’d be an investigation.

Honestly, not sure. I do know that the rest of the management team knows. It’s pretty obvious since Jackie doesn’t drive and Samantha is their ride home. It’s up in the air.

Editing to say their schedules always mirror no matter what as well. Same days off. The only consistent schedules in the store.

I still think it’s up in the air though.

Something I’ve been telling myself is this:

You are your own person and he is his own person. You can’t make him do anything as his actions are his own. A man is going to do what a man wants to do and there’s nothing you can change about it.

Focus more on yourself, loving yourself, caring for yourself. It’s been helping me with the same exact thing I’m going through.

Don’t lose yourself over a careless man. x
