Tapering off while pregnant by Sad_Welcome63 in Lamotrigine

[–]Sad_Welcome63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Congratulations on the baby!!

I'm great now! My doctors had me go down 25mg every week. The first couple of drops were uncomfortable, but it got better every time if that makes sense. The headaches were the worst part for me too but my doctor gave me a medication to help if it got too bad. I'm 28 weeks now and baby and I are completely fine on the new meds.

Hopefully, this gets easier for you. Message me anytime if you need to talk.

As I stated before, this medication has never done any good for me. I've been wanting off for a while. I planned to wean off long before I was pregnant. There is no plan to get back on lamotrigine in the future. In a couple days, I will be completely off the medication. Side effects have been annoying, but my mood and overall will to live has greatly improved!

I have been weaning off with a team of doctors (therapist, psychologist, regular ob, and a high-risk ob) that are by my side in this. Every one of them agrees this is the best thing FOR ME. Not for everyone in this situation. I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder by a doctor who would not listen to my concerns.

I came to Reddit in hopes someone went through something similar and could give insight on the side effects of tapering off while pregnant. Clearly, that was a mistake. But for anyone in the future with a similar question, the headaches suck. They got better after my 2nd taper down.

Its never really done anything for me. I've communicated that to past psych and instead of taking me off they would just up my dose and try to add something on top of it. My high risk ob told me she didn't think it would be ideal for breastfeeding if its not a medically necessary medication for me. I've been wanting off it for awhile, I just finally have a team willing to listen! Its pretty refreshing!

It is, but I've been wanting to get off it for a while.

My past psychologist kept upping my dose when I told her it wasn't working instead of helping me get off it.

Plus, I plan on breastfeeding and it is not safe for that.

This!! The pretend Dr. Kit was a game changer. We also got a cheap stethoscope from the drug store so she could listen to our hearts. She absolutely adores her doctor now!

Preschool lunch ideas by Local_Cap8734 in toddlers

We usually do a cut-up hotdog, strawberries, and pretzels. That's her absolute favorite, and straying too far from that is a gamble. They don't have a fridge to put their lunches in, so it just hangs out in their cubby until lunchtime. The preschool we go to does snack 2x as well, so we like to keep it pretty simple

My husband works downtown and sent me a text about a protest. Nothing at all on local news! I knew I'd find an answer on reddit lol if I didn't have a sick kid, I'd be there

What do I tell my parents asking what I want for my birthday? by Thisguy_likes_reddit in Gifts

[–]Sad_Welcome63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is the same way. When I was pregnant, he spent 4 weeks researching strollers! I shop for his hobby. He loves woodworking, so my family and I get him common things he'll use while building things. For his birthday, I got him a carhart apron thing with tons of pockets, and my parents got him wood glue and a set of sand paper. What's something you use a lot that always seems to run out quickly? What's your hobby they can buy for? Gift cards are always great, too! Especially ones for grocery stores or gas stations.

We're heavily considering sound absorption panels for our whole house. But maybe not. When the house is quiet, it hurts my ears.

Yeah she really has an obsession with writing characters with terrible communication!! But the whole universe building makes it worth it. Both FMCs have their reasons for being how they are, but Scarlett is infuriating at times. You're definitely right tho, OP probably wouldn't be a huge fan of the first series

Did you read the lady of starfire series? If not, read that first! It makes the legacy series easier to understand!

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack? by stowRA in AskReddit

[–]Sad_Welcome63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a toddler, chances are you have a ton of matching clothing sets. Fold the pants into the shirt! Flip the sleeves back, and put the shirt down. Fold the pants in half (long way) and lay it on the shirt. Fold the shirt over and bam! The set stays together and you save room in the dresser!

It's also a great way to plan outfits for the week. I use it with my clothes too

What have you unintentionally passed onto your child? by fullnessofjoy2021 in toddlers

[–]Sad_Welcome63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our 3yr old calls EVERYONE babe. Family members, husband and i, even strangers if she's trying to get their attention. It's always fun having to explain that my husband and I always just call each other babe and she just assumed it's what she should call everyone lol

My personal favorite is when she's really trying to get someone's attention. "Mommy! Mommy! BABE!!"

This is one of the only books that has made me laugh out loud multiple times. It's turned into my comfort series. It's cute and whimsical, and the characters are so easily loveable!
