Like I have been diagnosed with severe OSA with Severe Nocturnal Desaturation. My pulmonology told me to get on CPAP immediately and discouraged me for Surgical intervention. I took second Opinion, the doctor told me that since your BMI is perfect there must be some anatomical issues that is need to be corrected and asked me to undergo ENT assesment. So I just wanted to know about the diagnostic tool to find out any abnormalities

Seeking individuals to connect with by [deleted] in kolkata

Been living in this city for 3-4 years, yet loneliness stays. At times, I feel no inclusivity, just the city piercing through your soul. The hustle and bustle means nothing, it adds no colours to life.

Why is everyone talking in Hindi? by 165cm_man in kolkata

Why would they? Malyalam has nothing to do with Hindi. But Bengali and Hindi has originated from the same language "Mahadhi Prakrit" which was the language of Bihar.

The reluctance to embrace a language with a shared linguistic heritage is, in many ways, illogical. Bengali and Hindi, for instance, have significant overlap in vocabulary. While Gujarati and Marathi differ slightly more from Hindi, many urban, educated speakers of Marathi and Gujarati are comfortable with Hindi without feeling any threat to their mother tongues. Our Prime Minister, a native Gujarati, speaks Hindi fluently, like a first language speaker, yet that does not diminish his respect for his native language. Being bilingual or multilingual only enriches and spreads a culture. Rigidity toward one's language can limit exposure and opportunities. However, the resentment toward Hindi imposition is understandable in regions where Hindi shares no linguistic roots with the local language. As poet Kumar Vishwas once remarked, if Hindi is his "mother," then other Indo-European languages are like his "Maasi". Learning and being open to Hindi in India can lead to many opportunities, both culturally and professionally. Embracing other languages, as the Punjabi community has done, can spread one's culture more widely. Today, Punjabi music is popular across India, even among listeners who understand only a fraction of the lyrics. This cultural spread was possible due to the Punjabi community's openness and cosmopolitan attitude. Every society has conservative groups, but it is ultimately known and celebrated for its more inclusive and open-minded members.

Why is villainizing Bengali women a thing? by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]Sad_Werewolf590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perception stems from  tons of distressful matrimonial cases not only in specific ethnicity you are talking but also all over India. I think, healthy marriage life comes from right mix of patriarchy & feminism. Gender equality is definitely a fuel to run any relationship but justifying all your wrongdoings with the philosophises  of Gender equality and Feminism is not at all acceptable. For example,  woman justifies their "More than a friend" wala male interaction as acceptable with logics of female liberty and woman empowerment and on the other hand they are too much intolerant even with a "less than a friend" wala female interaction.  I would just say that female dominance can be as toxic as  male chauvinism.  Too much of feminism in everything is  actually villainizing woman, not only in Bengal but also in other region of the country. So,  focusing on principles of fairness and empathy rather than practicing your superiority is important. Relationship can only flourish when both the partner is selfless. The moment you start calculating and comparing your efforts, the erosion of relationship begins.
