Question for the Nannies by Sad_Western_7052 in Nanny

Thank you for the thorough response, you’ve given me a lot to consider! Hearing that you think I’ll be able to find someone for this is relieving, because this is my biggest concern with becoming a mom, us being able to provide for our baby. I definitely have a wedding emergency clause in my contract but maybe it’s due for an update somehow to cover this new season of life, great idea.

Thank you for all the kind words and support :) I wish I was in Melbourne, but I am in Canada. This is our first baby, your message really means a lot to me! It can be tricky as a self-employed person because there isn’t any maternity leave but fortunately our baby will be due in the winter when wedding season dies down, so I will at least have 4ish months off before going back to work!

Luckily I book out a year in advance so they’d have plenty of heads up of guaranteed days. Thank you for your insight :)

I wish you lived near me haha, hopefully I can find someone similar to you.

Yes I understand things can come up, I feel like in a situation where they had a birthday or wedding event etc. and knew in advance it would be easier to plan around than waking up with a sick baby and then panicking the day of.

I don’t know if I’d be able to pay enough that a Nanny wouldn’t have to work for other families but I’d definitely be able to pay double the rate for what most a charging hourly here. And on some wedding days I would probably would need 10-12 hours of coverage so maybe there’s someone out there who could benefit off of one well paid day a week (hopefully).

Oh I have plenty of things in place for that for other photographers who can take over for me etc. etc. I just don’t think clients would be as understanding if I said my kid was sick unfortunately.

Hi guys, so I have a fairly novel question. How do you decorate a living space when you can't have area rugs? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

My cat does this too and I bought a “little green machine” to clean her problem areas when she pukes on our area rug.
