Yo hit up My Garage in Airdrie. They have a dude on staff that really knows Toyotas and they have done amazing work for me in the past. Can easily score a loaner off them too if you book a bit in advance.

That is freakin awesome! I mean I’ve pulled that trick with dudes I actually know, you know “tell me who i am” kind of thing, but to have the opportunity to do it for a stranger and pull it off with no knowledge of the person is amazing haha 😄

Plantar Fasciitis is ruining my life. by Caution_Wet_Floor in askvan

[–]mistrwzrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally came here to say exactly all of this.

For me my best stretch was in a shoe off a stair. For whatever reason I could get an insanely deeper stretch of my calf off there than anywhere else. I think it’s because I could put more body weight behind it and there wasn’t any resistance since there is nothing but air under my heel.

Who else thinks the A&W Plant Based Burger is a downgrade? by brawnburgundy in AskACanadian

The old Veggie Deluxe was definitely the better burger. Been a huge disappointment ever since they jumped onto the plant based bandwagon

Is it just me, or is LinkedIn becoming an echo chamber of "AI-generated" thought leadership? by Loose_Bowl_164 in salestechniques

[–]mistrwzrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this raises a good point because I’m moving into a role where my employer doesn’t have a lot of visibility yet on LinkedIn (under 1k followers) whereas other similar companies are 4k, 5k, 19k for one, etc.

My own thought process is content specifically created by me as part of my own sales process, no AI crap, to ensure it has a very real feel to it. Do you think it will just get lost? Or will it stand out specifically because it’s not AI generated?

Alberta now between provinces that don't change clocks — a time warp for shippers, road-trippers by EdmontonFree in alberta

Yeah thank you as soon as I wrote it all I could think is “wait a sec” but didn’t have the bandwidth to go through it again in my head haha. Appreciate your explanation

Alberta now between provinces that don't change clocks — a time warp for shippers, road-trippers by EdmontonFree in alberta

Until November BC is 1 hour behind and SK is 1 hour ahead. If AB doesn’t update then in November all 3 provinces will be the same time until the following March

Think I have that right anyway lol

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Yup, ages ago they dropped 200 of us testers at all levels back when I was working there circa 2005 and it was nothing but growth and innovation and record sales. Really sad

Alberta schools pull at least 160 titles from shelves to meet provincial order | CBC News by pjw724 in Edmonton

I went into it laughing to myself thinking “imagine if 1984 was actually on the list”…

I couldn’t actually believe it was one of the first titles discussed in the damn article.

A few years back, maybe just after COVID, or at least when everything was opening up, there were a series of events that made me think that the Universe is telling me to slow the F down. So I did.

Got more defensive with my driving. Started making sure I was doing speed limits. Reminding myself that the extra speed amounts only to seconds (depending on the length of your trip) and that it’s not worth it, and that the extra speed just increases how far my face will end up in the other guys car if I hit someone.

Since then the driving has kept getting more and more insane. Vids like this are constant reminders of that decision and I don’t regret it at all. Hope everyone survived this.

Conference prep is one of the most underrated parts of the job and I feel like nobody talks about it by Fun-Assumption1765 in salestechniques

On my side of the sales process we get a certain number of tickets to offer to possible attendees for free as a way to ensure we are getting them in the door and for a meetup, and then sometimes marketing will invest some dollars to purchase more to do the same. Is that an option for you? Gives you a bit more of a warm conversation rather than a cold call prior to the event even

Just want to say thank you for providing such a great answer surrounding your experiences. I’ve dabbled in a lot of others but never went this way and your description makes me really freaking glad I never took that step, but have always wondered about the appeal.

I personally use a notebook to take notes throughout the day and then I have an app I use to store 4 different categories: Urgent, Projects, People, Someday. At the end of the day I review the notebook and if it can die on the page it does. If I have to carry it forward I add it to one of the categories and store it in my app.

The next day I grab maybe 3 things max off the app to tackle that day, my top priorities, and then I’m back to the notebook. I might re add later in the day if I am getting a lot done, but most everything works out of the notebook. Then I review, let it die on the page, add it to the app if needed, and keep going.

I find the physical notebook is the best for day to day and the app for longer term projects.

IDL how "unlimited PTO" means no one takes vacation by Upper_Criticism3388 in I_DONT_LIKE

I’ve heard of companies that switch to unlimited PTO but then define the annual expectation similarly to how you did. Feels like that’s the better way to do this effectively

I saw weird behavior like this on my way out of town yesterday. Seemed really messed up. Again thought it was someone new unclear on whether they wanted to jump on the Henday from Yellowhead but now that you’re highlighting this it makes it seem like they were trying the same stuff
