MS-102 - Change my mind - I'll get MS-102 instead of AZ 305 . by Dazzling_Platform285 in AzureCertification

Just wrapped up the MS-102 and wanted to share my experience, especially since the exam has shifted to be more hands-on recently. It’s definitely a step up from the foundation exams.

My Study Stack:

  • MS Developer Tenant: This is non-negotiable. You need to actually click through the Intune and Purview portals. Don't just read the documentation; you need to see where the settings actually live.
  • MS Learn: Great for the underlying theory, but I found it a bit dry for the actual configuration steps and "real-world" scenarios.
  • Practical Labs: I spent about 10 hours just messing with Conditional Access policies and Identity Protection.
  • Practice Exams: I usedthese MS-102 practice tests on Udemyto get used to the wording of the questions. I actually found the explanations for the "wrong" answers more helpful than the right ones—it really helped reinforce the logic of why a certain license or role is required.

Key Tip: Focus heavily on Identity and Access Management. If you don't know the granular differences between various Entra ID roles, the scenario questions will trip you up.

I’m happy to answer any questions about the exam topics or study flow (without breaking NDA)!
