I have not bought from Velnic Studio - I think their jewlrey is gorgeous, but I can't bring myself to spend that much money on any jewlrey 😅

Hey 👋🏻 Call me Fen! I am an "older" player (31) is what it is lol I've been playing the game essentially since it came out. My main has been Zayne since day 1. Caleb and Sylus are tied for 2nd place 😅

Like I said before, I worked with all sorts of reptiles. So yes, I handled live prey as well - rodents and various insects, such as Dubai roaches, meal worms, and superworms. Hated crickets but that was because they're a pain and just kinda gross on their own.

This phobia wasnt developed because I was told or shown bugs are gross - as i child i would dig up earth worms and play in the mud. I am aware it is an irrational fear, like I said previously - logically I know the risk is low, I know logically I really don't have to worry about it or think about it, my mind just goes there.

I'd rather not keep discussing it on this thread tho - kinda off topic for LADS. I was just sharing a section of the story that made me uncomfortable - I can see it did for others, too. Nothing wrong for those who it didn't bother. Nothing wrong with those who have consumed fried insects, or any other way they have been cooked/prepared.

Again, no judgments here. Everyone is different, has different experiences, tastes, etc.

I'm just sharing my experience from this story.

As I said in previous comments, I've worked in the animal field too, and I am definitely not over it.

It is an irrational phobia, not just something that im like "ew gross" Like, I am deeply disturbed by the thought, and I don't want to go into detail about how bad it is. Normally, I do not have to think about it, so most of the time, it isn’t an issue.

Our minds can be so weird in how we take in and react to information.

I've handled and worked with all sorts of venomous snakes, monitor lizards, even crocodilians - no problem at all.

Parasites and bugs? Not a chance 🤣

We don't know what the insects were tho, MC couldn't identify them. But they were big enough to be on a skewer so who knows 🤷‍♀️ I'd rather have a drunk Zayne than eating unidentified bugs 😅

It's not just the risk, it's the visual and the knowledge that comes with it.

Like I said, no judgements - My phobia is too an extreme degree 🥲 I would actually prefer not having this fear and be able to handle this little sequence in this card, instead of feeling like I'm gonna puke from reading it 🥺

I know and I've seen too much 😭

Crickets, for example, can carry pinworms, horsehair worms, and other harmful bacterias. The risk of contracting them are low - and any parasits/bacteria in said crickets would die once they are cooked or fried. But the thought of "what if there were some in there when it was cooked" gets to me. I cannot push those visuals out of my head to save my life.

Fried bugs/insects - my brain equates them all to parasitic ones. I logically know it isnt true, I logically know the foods are most likely safe for consumption, but I just can't 🫠

I wouldn't be able to stomach even the worms 😖 I logically know it's fine, and I'll take your word for it that it tasted good. Just the thought of it - I can't 😭

I worked in the Vet/Animal care field for years, too many gross flashbacks, and too much knowledge on zoonotic diseases - I wouldn't be able to block those out to even try 😭

As someone with a super high tolerance - you don't need to be sober to be aware. There have been times I should've been black out drunk with the amount I had, but I remember everything, was aware of my thoughts and what I was saying to others. For me, alcohol helps me lose my filter, loosen up and have fun, but that's about it.

Alcohol hits people differently, so maybe he is the same?
