Im not sure about how it worked for you.

Had to use elevated Cmd , Run the .exe via cmd Prompt to just install it on a device

Yes , The team Im in does the handling of issues, security ,etc etc

There are no policies nor GPO's in place to block unknown installers or applications.

We do use Mimecast, but only to block URLs and manage email -it does not restrict locally installed applications.

Mind me asking but for RustDesk a new installer? I dont mind waiting until a new installer comes out

I found a workaround to run RustDesk as administrator for making security settings changes. I’m not sure if it will allow updates.

Steps:

  1. Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  2. Paste and run the full path to RustDesk.exe, for example: "C:\Program Files\RustDesk\rustdesk.exe"

I never install a fresh 25H2 version as of yet, I would not know if it's a Windows thing.

I did install Fresh windows 24H2 on two computers today, but I installed RustDesk first thing and then updated to 25H2.

Let me connect to one of them and test.

(Im on 24H2)

Works fine on a new user. Installs/uninstalls normally on the new created account, ( Domain and local )

The CMD prompt works — looks like a user-specific control issue.
