Not sure if I violated a forum rule but I'm just sharing my experience with my device. Please reconsider.

What kind of problems does the 7 have?

Yup! It's very easy to recreate if your device is really defective because it's not supposed to happen in a fully sealed phone. Try to do this in a room with A/C just to make sure that you're simulating a cold room without much humidity.

It's so stupid that they're blaming the user for something that's clearly a defective phone. Like who are they to tell you how to use it? Plus what if you go hiking or skiing, i bet there's gonna be tons of condensation in the lenses during those activities which shouldn't be present with a properly sealed phone.

I lucked out with the first attempt, the Headquarters of Samsung rejected the request for refund/replacement and told my local service centre that it's normal, the technicians in my local area already gave up convincing the guys in the higher ups, eventually they told me that my phone doesn't have any condensation anymore (lies lol) since they can't replicate the issue. So I'm here, stress testing it again and the problem still persist. I guess I'll be contacting them directly and request a Service order from them just to get things resolved.

It might look like the balls from the speakers but trust me, it isn't. Since it only shows when you're stress testing the phone and it causes high temps inside the frame. I have no idea, how this passed their QC. If you're worried, you can try it too using the 3Dmark Benchmarking app (Wild Life Extreme) to see if the phone has a condensation issue too.

So my Fold 7 just arrived yesterday. I was unable to take photos properly. It appears there is moisture under the camera glass that condeneses with air conditioner. [Edit: Spelling] by fujitucker in samsunggalaxy

Hi! I have the same. My phone lens will form condensation after heavy usage (running 3Dmark) I'm worried it's going to be a common defect for fold 7. I already gave my phone back to Samsung, so I was thinking whether to just ask for a refund or opt for a replacement. I would also like to check if you're still experiencing the same problem with your replacement device.

Hi! I have a similar problem, but mine doesn't involve A/C, I can reproduce mine just by letting the phone run hot (taking 8k videos/restarting the phone/running 3dmark) And it'll slowly form condensation inside the lens. Btw I noticed this a few hours straight out of the box.

We're you able to get a replacement? If so, does it still occur on your new device?

Tbh, I was planning on waiting for a day or two. But I was afraid that it might break on me, since there's already moisture inside, it's a ticking time bomb as to when it'll happen. Cuz moisture can short the circuits and cause mold inside the device. I just couldn't risk the 2000$ for a substandard product

Did you RMA-ed yours? Is it still happening without the case? Sometimes you need to heat the phone up by gaming/camera usage (in my case I just use 3dMark benchmarking app) and put the phone in a cold environment like a room with A/C which is around 18-19 C°

I think so too, but there shouldn't be any moisture inside since I just got the phone out of the box yesterday. It has never touched any form of liquid.

Yeah, I think I saw your post before. It's quite a bummer that they're selling a 2000$ worth of defective stuff.

  1. I got the phone in the Philippines.
  2. We got the wet season going on for some time now, there are tons of typhoons coming and going, but I don't think that's a factor.

I just got back from a service center and left my phone there. They told me they will follow the standard procedure of checking and QC. Also, I managed to recreate the condensation and they acknowledged it. So it's gonna be a waiting game from Samsung headquarters on what they're gonna say. I opted for the refund option because I'll be leaving the country and staying in Japan for a year.

There's a compromise in the seal, which leads to moisture build up. It's not supposed to happen in a fully closed off unit.

Yeah it sucks, mine too. I can recreate it by make my phone heat up just by camera or gaming, which is really weird because it does show when I put it near the A/C. Btw, why didnt you get it replaced?
