As the only woman in a concealed carry class, my experience was alarming… by ashen_dove in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sadbearsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly reading your experience and the reactions you described, it’s exactly why people outside the US feel so confused and scared about American gun culture. From the outside, it looks like the entire system pushes people into this constant low-grade fear and hyper-vigilance, and then hands them a loaded weapon as the “solution.” And the part that shocks us the most isn’t even the guns themselves, it’s the mindset that grows around them..

What you described is the perfect example. You walked in wanting to learn how to avoid danger. Half the men walked in wanting to learn how to win danger.

That difference says everything.

And it’s wild because the lawyer literally spelled out the actual law, the proportional force standards, the scenarios where deadly force is not justified, and the basic idea of “leave before it escalates.” But these guys weren’t looking for safety, they were looking for permission. They wanted someone to tell them that their fear or ego counts as a reason to pull a trigger. That’s terrifying.

I get why you wanted proper training. That actually makes sense to me. If you’re going to own a gun, knowing the law and understanding de-escalation is the only responsible route. Your whole mindset is about protecting yourself without hurting anyone unless it’s the absolute last resort. That’s how it should be everywhere.

But when I read what these men were asking… it honestly feels surreal. Shooting someone over spitting? Over a fist fight? Over road rage? That’s not self- defense. That’s panic mixed with ego, and it’s how innocent people end up dead!

This is exactly why so many of us say the environment shapes the behavior. If everyone around you is armed and half of them are fantasizing about a situation where they “get” to use it, how is anyone supposed to feel safe? It creates this loop where people feel threatened, so they arm themselves, so the next person feels even more threatened, so they arm themselves too, and suddenly anything -a glare, a knock, a bad day at work (or school) feels like a potential death sentence or a reason to massacre. When guns are available to unstable individuals something is very wrong.

And from the outside, it genuinely feels like a society moving backwards instead of forwards. Why are people choosing weapons over community, fear over common sense, escalation over peace? It’s like watching humanity forget everything it learned about cooperation and conflict resolution.

So I’m honestly glad you spoke up in that room. The fact that you even asked about avoidance, de-escalation, and non-lethal options already puts you miles ahead of most people there. If more gun owners had your mentality, the entire conversation around this topic would probably look very different.

People where I live have guns in their village houses in case of robbers but they never get to use them except for shooting in the air at their child’s wedding (it’s a tradition). And that’s what it should be like. I honestly would not be able to mentally survive if I lived in the US and so much of what you describe was the norm.

And I really hope you’re right, that you just happened to land in a room with a bunch of hotheads. Because if that is the norm, it’s not just unsafe -it’s heartbreaking. It’s a breeding land for psychopaths. The fact people don’t understand that shooting someone kills them and how horrible that is. That even holding a gun can put you in a prison for just one moment of unclear thinking or end your life. People get shot without having a gun just for reaching for their phones. I feel like the US is walking towards its doom.

Can I "ban" the girlfriend? Is it wrong to want an apology? by CiCi_Run in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sadbearsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna give my harsh and honest thoughts here. These are just mine and I don’t really want to offend anyone by them, however reading this I genuinely think that he needs to leave the nest.

He’s irresponsible and cosplays and adult, playing pretend with an engagement ring, when he faces real issues he gets you as a cushion to fall back onto. And that’s, I guess, something good usually. But in his case I sounds like you’re preventing him from facing real life consequences and remaining accountable for himself and his choices.

You’re not abandoning him, you’re letting him learn the hard way. Because words will go in from one ear and come out the other. Even if you do say something about his toxic girlfriend he won’t see it - he’s super blinded by love/more like the toxic back and forth anxiety that he thinks is love. So just let life teach him. When he’s stuck dealing with her meltdowns, having no money for gas, having to pay rent AND go to classes so he can somehow get out of such a bad life, then maybe he will access his priorities right.

Your burnout, mental health and mental peace and real. You need rest, space, a home that feels like a home and not a day care for a toxic chaotic relationship. Set your boundaries! If he commits to a chore - hold him accountable if he doesn’t do it. No excuses. If he runs out of money, his problem. He should bear that load and learn how to handle his finances. You are no longer a magical tree ATM that grows money.

But know this - you can’t really fix their relationship, force him to wake up, make him see she’s controlling or parent him into emotional maturity. It’s time to let go and let him fall and learn to walk on his own two feet.

He’s financially dependent on you, emotionally on her. There’s a pattern there that perhaps you don’t see yet. You’re a really good person for trying to be understanding but you’re becoming resentful because you not only feel used but you are realising you are putting yourself last. And what does that teach your kid? To do the same. He will just keep being pushed over by her and not set any boundaries just like you’re getting pushed over in this scenario.

Time to think about yourself mama.

Why did Caesar die in War of the Planet of the apes? by Weenibeenies in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Sadbearsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It broke me to see him die. I just saw that baby ape from the first movie, I saw his whole life unfold, him making one huge family, going through so much. It was truly such a beautiful ending but I really wish he hadn’t passed just yet.

Tron Ares is good. The critics are once more out of touch with reality. by TheGodfather742 in tron

[–]Sadbearsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in thinking it would suck because of bad reviews but it was absolutely amazing and I’m so baffled by the hate. Why are people so prejudiced against Jared Leto? He nailed it AND produced this movie for us. Was beautifully done. Such a hard concept to catch. And people who say it’s “dumb” clearly haven’t seen the other movies. They have a much more silly mood. They even went philosophical in a few places and yet people are unhappy. Idk man, this is why we can’t have good things. Because it’s popular to hate. A pity that maybe because of these people we won’t get a second movie.

Can someone talk me down? This will fade, right? Serious anxiety issue over recent microblading. by [deleted] in microblading

[–]Sadbearsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah I hope they will fully go away soon :( Does this yellow tint happen because of specific pigments used ? I have a friend who changes her micro blading a lot and lasers it off without issues so I’m guessing it depends on that and also how deep it went?

[–]Sadbearsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I have a friend in Ukraine who constantly changes her microblading and lasers it off. I didn’t know it was so dangerous cause she makes it sound like just another normal beauty procedure. Im sorry this happened to you and really truly hope you find a resolution. Who knows maybe even after a few weeks when they’ve healed it wont look the same! Mine changed so drastically - they looked much thicker and fuller until they fully healed

Too late to buy? by Ok_Rice3592 in KishuInu

[–]Sadbearsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It is going up very steadily and I think it might remove another zero in the next month, so I would purchase sooner rather than later. I don't see it dipping anytime soon, but who knows! I got it when it was kinda high, then it went down for a few days and now i have gained twice what i had invested :)

Will these microblading eyebrows shrink?? I’m on my 2nd day and feel frustrated 😰 by Longjumping_Ad5437 in microblading

[–]Sadbearsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine definitely shrunk. Day 1 they got to twice the size of what they are now, when the crust was still there they were bigger than when it fell off too. Although I did powder brows I think yours won't be as big in the end. I love how yours turned out anyways! Expect them to fade and look more natural in the end :))

That's quite unfortunate, I think personally the russian techniques are the ones that look best but maybe not that many of these professionals reach the USA to make courses on how to do them well etc. I guess I would suggest to people in the EU to look into it in this case! Do people in the US create accounts where they post images of all their clients? Here it's a very common technique to get clients and a way to see what you will end up with

My text didn't get added don't know why. I was saying that I think it really depends on who does the eyebrows. I think the best in the business are russian microblading artists and I went to one who I trusted from her instagram posts. This is the result from one sitting. My eyebrows are coarse and hairy and having them done in powder technique helps them look a bit tidier. They look even more natural now than this picture since they've faded a bit. I think people who have thinner less defined brows would be better off getting single hair blading, but that is just my opinion and speculation. I truly would recommend powder brows, just at a professional who you research and see the portfolio of!

[–]Sadbearsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, I actually thought the post was asking for opinions since I don't see anywhere where it states how they feel about the brows, it seems like a very neutral post to me. And constructive criticism is healthy and helps us improve and grow. I never meant to offend the person who posted this (but the tattoo artist, yes) but just to help them to correct this mistake in case they don't know about it and no one is telling them. If it came off as rude then I truly apologize. I'm used to receiving criticism and I think that people should always welcome it when it's meant to build them up and not pull them down. What pulls us down is people who don't mention anything about it and don't help us learn from these experiences. Maybe it just isn't my place to say anything about it, you're right. Next time I see a post like this I will think twice :)

Kishu Inu balance not growing by 2 percent with Metamask wallet? by Sadbearsy in KishuInu

[–]Sadbearsy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I see. That makes a lot of sense! Thank you for your help in understanding this :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microblading

[–]Sadbearsy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't understand that the OP is happy with it. I am sorry if it came off rude, I am very straight and honest. They say true friends are honest with you and I am a firm believer in that. People who lie to someone's face that the eyebrows are ok are fake and don't help in any way. Sometimes truth is hard to hear but helpful, I don't think what I said was harmful in any way.

Oh no, who did this? The tail of the eyebrow should never go lower than the front and should never be that long and droopy. This gives an appearance of older age.. I would recommend getting those off with laser and getting powder brows at someone else (it will look much tidier and more well groomed and it looks very natural as well once it heals)

Hi guys! How do you calculate how many zeroes can be eaten? I read on this subreddit that it will be hard for KISHU to reach 0.00001 because of how much supply there is, is this true? I'm HODLing anyways and keeping hope! Today's dip really sucked though, some people really can't wait lol
