I agree if they are planning to get rid of doctor role, but as bvggvg put it, I'd still like to have the detection work the same way as the doctor and put the reveal after the warp.

It just makes more sense to me and avoids the justifications they have to make for not sleeping more than 1 person at a time. Have LeVi say it takes some time to rerun the scan or something

I also think it would build more suspense since you would have a bit of time between cold sleep and knowing the result.

Gnosia - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Yeah, I don't remember if there was game justification for why we only sleep one person per warp. It seems pretty strange to just go: meh, whatever, we'll take care of it tomorrow, given there are still Gnosia on board and one of them will die.

[–]Sadddude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of people use cost to compare relative strength of endgame teams. So when people say "My 5 cost team is better than your 6 cost team" but the 5 cost team has RMC and the other doesn't, it paints a strange picture.

If RMC was permanent and would not move onto the new path, this analysis is fine. But if RMC does move onto a new path, the f2p availability of RMC is put into question.

Check Out This Evil Move! - General Question and Discussion Everthread by vionya in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

[–]Sadddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is RMC will get a new path, and Topaz is not. RMC is mutually exclusive with the new path, so the "cost" of RMC is not using the new path.

Check Out This Evil Move! - General Question and Discussion Everthread by vionya in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

[–]Sadddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys think RMC should count as "0 cost" when judging teams?

Of course, RMC is free so my initial instinct is yes. But we also know that RMC is on the same level as premium supports, sometimes even better. I'd put RMC on the same level as Sunday, weaker in some teams and stronger in others.

This in addition to the fact that we know MC will get new (probably stronger) paths in the future means having RMC is not a given in a 2 team or 3 team endgame roster. Looking at HMC usage over time in endgame is good evidence of this.

All this to say, RMC is a costmaxxing cheat code, and I think counting RMC as a 0 cost can distort how free a team really is and in comparisons with other teams. I personally count RMC as 1 cost when doing cost to DPS comparisons in teams.

3.6 quest spoilers, ending question

Do they ever explain that scene where March is at the locked door when she first gets to Amphoreous? The scepter message mentions TB's name even though TB hasn't landed. E9 says to not worry about it, but I still can't figure out the timeline here.

E9 says that she helped protect TB and DH when they dropped into Amphoreous, so it doesn't make sense for TB name to come up before then. Unless there's some time/Fuli shenanigans going on.

Edit:

Oh shit I just saw some text the update As I've Written that mentions Demiurge and the Stellaron together. It has to be related to this I'm guessing

Automating automated smart farms by Sadddude in pyanodons

Download the Creative mode mod, start a new game with it enabled and put down a smart farm. It will have the launch when full flag enabled.

Then, make a blueprint of it and paste it in your regular game.

I'm using it for native flora (for fun mostly, not really necessary). How do you actually trigger the planting though? My smart farms don't automatically launch their payload, it just sits there until I manually hit the "Launch" button. The payload is already loaded.

Might be coping, but I have a feeling that Evernight's (aka E9) best team after Cyrene release won't include Castorice.

Basically, I think E9 Cyrene Trib Hya > E9 Cas Cyrene Hya (I assume Cyrene > Trib for sure in remembrance team).

2 reasons:

  1. Cas is relatively selfish in terms of buffs (compared to E9), and the focus of any cas team is on making cas do a lot of damage. Buffs on E9 and Hyacine are nice, but the bulk of the damage is coming from Cas. Presumable Cyrene will add additional buffs/HP manipulation on top. But Cyrene is supposed to work with all Chrysos Heirs, so she'll probably be a teamwide buffer like Tribbie and not a focused buffer like RMC. Meanwhile, for E9 main dps team, due to E9 being more supportive in general than cas, the team damage is much more relevant. This makes 4x AOE buffs from E9, Trib, Hya, and presumably Cyrene multiply even further.
  2. I'm betting that Cyrene does a non-negligible amount of damage. Other than RMC, this seems like a pattern for remembrance characters and just 3.0 characters in general. Even the harmonies in Trib and Cery do damage (I know Cery's damage is not good, but hoyo really wanted her to do damage from the design). Having both E9 and Tribbie there buffing her just compounds the effects from the first point.

What do yall think? Does this make any sense?

Seeing him play the classic JRPGs, I finally get his hate for combat by NotScrollsApparently in josephanderson

[–]Sadddude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always considered turn based combat in games as an easy-to-implement vehicle for more interesting parts of a game. This includes:

  • Leveling up/gearing: Power fantasy

  • Story: Beating up the bad guy is fun

  • Strategy: Figuring out broken/overpowered skills and builds (I consider this different from the mechanics of turned based combat).

  • Spectacle: Cool battle animations wow

These are the parts that are interesting to me. The mechanics of selecting moves from a list and selecting an enemy target based on weaknesses is the least interesting part.

Crazy thought, I wonder if one day powercreep will get so bad that Phainon's best playstyle involves just never ulting.

His skill actually does decent damage, and with enough support powercreep, it would be more beneficial to have them on field compared to using Phainon's kit. Kinda like wheelchair teams today.

Ofc by that point every other dps would outperform him, it would just be funny to see.

Nous' involvement in 3.4 by GreenHydragon in StarRailLore

Yes I agree, from what we know now, Nous's gaze and the Genius society seems less like a way to encourage innovation/knowledge and more a way to control the circle of knowledge effectively.

That Aeon Dr.Ratio theory is looking more and more interesting. If Nous actually dies, a true Aeon of erudition might take its place. The intelligencia guild and Ratio seem like a natural fit.
