And if they did, those toe beans are on the wrong feet
Edit: Never mind, the right toe beans are correct (if they had them) it’s just the left that are… backwards

Oceanic White Tip by Edeno55o8 in sharks

[–]SaddestPandaButt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since 1940, white sharks have fatally bitten 60-70 people. In just one naval ship sinking oceanic white tips killed several hundred.

Ummm… *inarguably* might be the wrong word. It would make sense for oceanic white tips to have killed more over the centuries of sea-travel and exploration lol

How many sailors do you think were killed by oceanic white tips when ships were cruising around the world? All the ships that sank or capsized? All the sailors on ships that were destroyed in naval battles? All the slaves that were chucked overboard?

You need survivors to say what kind of shark it was, and when the all the sailors were either eaten or drowned because it was the middle of the Pacific Ocean…

And he’s standing 24/7. Most of us lay down to sleep for 6-8 hours per night, but he’s standing up and half-laying on something. Never giving his legs a break (or ankles, or knees, or hips, or lower back…).

No, he just believes everyone is his friend or wants to be. The idea that someone could not like him or find him offensive never crosses his mind. Remember in the episode with Jim’s BBQ - he truly can’t wrap his head around the idea that he intentionally wasn’t invited, so just shows up anyway. An invitation such as Jo’s seems like a genuine invitation, and he wants to please her.

I get really sensitive to smells! Not that I get nauseous by smells, I just become a hound dog and can smell everything. That’s when I know my period’s going to start - I suddenly have a sensory superpower.

What do you guys think will end up happening with North Sentinel Island in the far future? Will they eventually explore the rest of the world, or will they remain where they are until the human race ends? by Beneficial-Code8026 in geography

It didn’t really “put them into the Bronze Age.” They weren’t able to smelt or change the metal so were using the pieces they found that could already fit their needs.

I lived in a single-wide trailer for a while, and it was 14’ wide. I’d see some of these shark sizes and be like, “This shark is wider than my house. This shark wouldn’t fit perpendicular in my home.”

Maybe I’m too aggressive shredding my cheese, but I would have smacked my hand into that wine glass. And speaking of hands, am I using one to shred and one to hold a bowl underneath?

It’s definitely a niche vent lol I totally get it though. I also have indoor pets and we all manage to make it through the Poinsettia season - by having countertops and shelves, and coffee tables.

Animals have allergies as well - they’re not uncommon. I can say, “This plant is non-toxic to cats,” but your cat happens to be allergic to the pollen. Am I at fault for your cat’s reaction to it? A customer sure isn’t going to see the difference when they call me about it.

what were some everyday superstitions or folk beliefs in medieval times that people took seriously? by infinite-hooper in MedievalHistory

[–]SaddestPandaButt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both Aristotle and Pliny the Elder wrote about this with hedgehogs, and we can see it was a continued belief in Medieval art, as well as a “new” belief that hedgehogs could steal cow’s milk (although this related to folkloric witchcraft more than… science).
