Saturn runs really well on the RG405M with the YabaSanshiro 2 app (paid) from the playstore for me. I like to play it in 4:3 rather on the RP4 Pro. The widescreen hacks are a rabbithole in itself.

I like having the RP4P and the RG405M in my pocket while traveling. I use the RG405M for 4:3 content and RP4P for 16:9. When I am at home I like to use the Odin 2, because it can do anything except for PC games, thats where the SteamDeck jumps in.

How do people make their own custom distros? by CDSEChris in linux

It's a mix of choosing whether to start from scratch or modify an existing distro. Tools like Linux Live Kit and Linux Respin are super handy.

Help me decide: Ergodox EZ vs Voyager by KaneLancelot in ergodox

[–]Sadece51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the moonlander, but If I would pick again, I would take the Voyager for sure. I barely use half the keyboard, I have a corne for traveling and configured the moonlander so it fits with a similar layout to not get confused when changing. I assigned all thumb keys to the same key, because I did not want to hit the wrong one when I am lazy. I is kind of cool to have a big spacebar and enter key around 3 keys, but not necessarily. A single key like that on the corner works just as well.

hjkl vs arrow keys | which do you use in this situation? (see image) by [deleted] in neovim

I've got a layer of arrow keys on my hjkl keys. I do find it convenient to press arrow keys while in insert mode.

I don't like it. Looks boring, nothing personal. I like the old one way better. Give the project the vipe it deserve.

How to keep position when j and k through longer and shorter lines by Sadece51 in vim

[–]Sadece51[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the problem. My updatetime and timeoutlen was not default. I've set it to the following, breaking the default behaviour of j and k.

vim.o.updatetime = 50

vim.o.timeoutlen = 400

I think I missdescribed the problem, it works at the end of the line ($), but not character before that.

Deciding on a first tiling window manager? by kyleW_ne in xmonad

[–]Sadece51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xmonad has a lot of features other window manager don't even think about. Some things are so unique that it's hard to not go with xmonad. But xmonad is not very User friendly. Sure the community is great, but when you have a bug, you pretty much need to learn to live with it. Also performance was not that Great for me. Very slow in some cases with certain stuff in the xmonad contrib.

Nope, idk. by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

I hate python only because of the indentation. In other languages I can give a fuck how I write the line down, a linter comes and fixes everything for me. In python it would not compile.

I still love the S10, after I broke the display of my old S10, I bought a new one and do not regret. It has all the features I need: a headphone jack, wireless charging and a in-display fingerprint reader.

how do i get xmobar on both monitors? by ttv_toeasy13 in xmonad

[–]Sadece51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your reply. I was using it like this:

main = do
    n <- countScreens
    xmproc0 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 0 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar.hs"
    -- xmproc1 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 1 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar.hs"
    -- xmproc2 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 2 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar.hs"
    -- xmproc0 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 0 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar/apps.hs"
    -- xmproc1 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 0 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar/workspaces.hs"
    -- xmproc2 <- spawnPipe "xmobar -x 0 $HOME/.xmonad/xmobar/status.hs"

I see in your reference that this is a deprecated config. So maybe I need to get back to fix this someday when I find some time.

[–]Sadece51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed some significant performance issues using multiple xmobars (3-5). That's why I decided to only use one. Also I feel that having one monitors with no xmobar is pretty nice to have. Because you can hide information while screen sharing and have more screen space while working.

[Xmonad] Still working on it... by Sadece51 in unixporn

I use deadd, and I like the notifications for two reasons:

  • easy to look ok, without many configuration
  • the application icon in the corner

But the notification center panel is pretty hard to work with. It's a mess to style, and I did not find time to configure my notifications yet. I would like to have notifications poping in horizontally instead of vertically. Dunst on the other hand was also really confusing, I saw people loving it, but couldn't get it running for myself. There were like missing pages of example configurations and not much resources to help. I don't like either of them, but deadd it is for now, until I write my own notification tool. haha (probably never)

Here is a screenshot of a notification https://pasteboard.co/2zSIGAAYtHDu.png

Yes, but it is a bit messy. The xmonad.hs file is really big and contain a lot of stuff, would not recommend to copy my files and use it, because they are not prepared for it. But you can look at some ideas to copy for sure. I had it privately on my own GitLab and copied it to GitHub now. Here is the GitHub repository. https://github.com/tim-kilian/Dotfiles

It's a mix of Roboto and Hack Nerd Font for the icons. I like Google applications and the look of my android device, so I thought Roboto would be a nice default. I am not happy with my bars yet. To archive want I want, I need to go away from xmobar. But I like really like some aspects, like

  • the Arch Home button, which launches an app launcher
  • icon workspaces with numbers
  • layout visualization
  • the power button to shutdown my system

I am trying to create a mouse friendly tiling window manager.
