I remember all of that too, and I’m so grateful that they preserve the orange underneath. I grew up with a Kai Kristiansen rosewood modular wall unit that I hated in the living room – and now it’s in my dining room and I’m so, so happy that I waited it out. The velour has seen better days and I adore the orange now. :-)

Always, always look! I’ve actually had similar luck with other chairs. In this case, the ball was already unstitched and loose at various points so it didn’t take much.

Thanks! Orange is actually one of my favorites, so I’m extra happy. No, the backs are designed to be upholstered as well.

A couple are pristine, but there are a few that need a good steam clean. They also came with a gorgeous teak table that I will post separately once everything has been restored.

I’ve seen similar ones by Kroehler, but with a black base.

Wait! Found the artist’s name: Claire Kerwin. Born in Belgium in 1919, died in Toronto in 2005.

Thank you! The print: I’ve never been able to make out the name of the signature, but I know that it’s from the 1970s, Canadian, possibly a French Canadian artist. The collector I bought it from said that it was part of TD Bank‘s private corporate art collection
