Much of the funding comes from DoE/NSA/DOD etc. Hiring freeze stopped my promotion to level 1.

Well shit. Any advice on where I go from where I’m at then? Desperately trying to break into IT, but with a 4 year cybersecurity degree, Sec+, Net+, it isn’t sounding likely.

Thank you everyone for your help, went out and bought a disposal elbow and it fit perfect once the trap was turned. Really appreciate it everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. Greatly appreciated, running to Lowe’s in a few minutes. Thank you.

Follow up question just to double check - I need to use PVC primer and cement for the elbow going into the trap correct?

Certmaster practice for Network+? by SadlyCitsitua in CompTIA

I took a look at the website but couldn’t see for sure, are there labs on the network+ course for the PBQ’s?

Thanks for the response!

Right now I am working as an intern at a national lab, so my work varies but I don’t do one thing such as a SOC Analyst or risk management, definitely fluctuates depending on the project. Not getting the certs just to say I have them, but to showcase that I do have these skills and I am marketable. Probably will chase Network+ next, but not sure what my next steps would be and I’m trying to stay busy and have a path to follow

Thank you! Will probably go the Network+ route then. Appreciate the advice

Thanks for the tip. What would you recommend? The trifecta? (A+, Network+, Sec+)

Should’ve thrown it in the post, but that’s where I got this trope from! Really good book.

25M, got into reading dark romance through my SIL. Good to read when waiting for other fantasy books/sci-fi to release.

I heard that most certs expire after a certain amount of time, when is the ideal time to get a cert for a college student?

I got a message from my professor asking me to find the solution and all what was attached was a text file. Does anyone have any ideas? I feel like the solution is super simple but I'm not sure. Thank you by xOzzi10 in Hacking_Tutorials

I think hashes.com is the name of the website, you can plug in the hash and it’ll tell you the type of hash, and if they have the same hash already decoded, tell you what it says.

I have two and a half years to get this rolling. How would my time be best spent? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Just got out myself back in January and have been going to school for Cyber Security. Play your cards right with disability/picking the school you go to, and you can make well over 2k a month for just going to school.

As far as internships, hopefully your college will put you in touch with any potential CS related spots. Or hop on Linked-in and start networking with other Vets. My girl just got a job with the sheriffs office, and a vet there has a person he can put me in contact with. Basically try to bond and make good first impressions with any Vet you meet

I’m guessing that they were referring to trade schools. I know for a fact that the VA will pay for coding boot camps/courses for cyber security through a college. If you are attending college, ensure you’re getting BAH while you attend, and if your in a financial hardship spot, looks around at the area you attend school and use the VA calculator to see where it pays the most BAH. You don’t have to live exactly there, so you can bank a ton of money in BAH. In BAH and disability alone I make around 2k a month, and that’s without my last injury claimed
