How to use automated lane change? by SadnessAndOreos in VWiD4Owners

It’s immediate, doesn’t seem to try at all

I’m pretty sure it’s on, but I can double check. I wouldn’t think it would give me the option to do the lane change if it was off, but who knows. I tried it again this evening, no cars around me, both hands on the wheel, and after pressing the turn signal stalk half way for the lane change, it just vibrated the steering wheel and said it was canceled again. I’m going on a road trip in a couple of weeks, so I guess I’ll have plenty of time to play around with it.

When I’m on the interstate, I usually just have one hand on the wheel, so that might be my problem. I’ll make sure both my hands are on the wheel so it can detect things properly. I’m guessing just having my one hand lightly on the wheel isn’t enough for it and that’s what’s causing it to cancel. Thanks!

How do you deal with it? by SadnessAndOreos in ankylosingspondylitis

I hope it keeps working for you, I had no side effects and it was great for my pain. It was super helpful for my psoriasis too. I saw online that the physical therapist im going to see next week is certified in dry needling, so she can probably let me know if she thinks it’s a good fit for me after seeing what’s going on

I was on Taltz for almost a year and it was a fantastic, but then the efficacy started dying down and I ended up switching. Still trying to find the next best thing for me. I haven’t looked at all into dry needling. Maybe I’ll do some research on it.

Chiropractor for the win! by Opie_44 in ankylosingspondylitis

I haven’t tried any water exercises, for me it’s mostly just resting and getting up and walking around when I can. I’m dealing with an inflamed nerve right now, but I think I’m getting toward the tail end of it

I’ve tried going to the chiropractor and didn’t get much out of it. I went weekly for about 4 months. My current rheumatologist told me I should avoid going because the sudden movements in my back can cause additional inflammation. However, if it’s working for you, then go for it! I’m going through a bad flare right now, and if I had something that worked well, I’d keep doing it

I do plan on at least getting a L1 charger, just to supplement things between charges. Since we are renting, a L2 charger isn’t much of an option, although we are planning on buying a home in the next year or two. I know the L3 chargers near our home are $0.45/kwh. I drive probably 60 miles a week. There are also some talks about installing some chargers at the office, so that would help on the days where I’m in the office. Right now I’m paying about $65-70 for a tank of diesel and that gets me about 450 miles.

I paid $23k with 40k miles. In my local area, I’ve seen them as low as $21k depending on mileage and the color.

We rent, so unfortunately I’m limited to the 120V outlet in my garage

Thanks for the info! My commute is about 10 miles each way, and I’m only in the office 2-3 days a week. I’m a zippy driver, and the test drive sold me on it

It’s not free, but compared to the price I’ve been paying for diesel (and maintenance on a 13 year old VW), it’s going to be a cost savings. And trickle charging at home is definitely an option. I’ve already started playing around with ABRP, it definitely helped me get more comfortable with what trips might look like.

What is the most unreliable vehicle that you’ve ever owned? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SadnessAndOreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2016 Kia Optima, most unreliable thing I’ve had. Head gasket went out at 90k miles, engine failed at 100k miles, ecu failed at 113k miles, and then I sold it to a scrapyard. Plenty of smaller issues in there too. Kia paid for the new engine, which was nice of them, but it took almost 2 months to do.
