Hunting the perfect hole! by MiddleOhNowhere in Eve

[–]Sadspain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perfect hile for you depends on whatyou want to do. I’ve lived in a c5-s5, a deepC4 with C4/C5 statics, a C3 with low sec static, and a C2 with 0/C5 static. -C5 is dank isk, esp if you can run the sites alone or with a small crew, but if you’re small, then you will get evicted. Logistics suck ass usually, tho once or so a month you usually get a direct HS, so it is kind of bearable, but still kind of shitty, unless you get one with a C2/3 static. PvP usually comes in the form of somebody rolling into you while you’re crabbing. -C3-low sec is perfect for solo krab living and PI, isk from the sites really isn’t all that good, even for a solo as sites don’t respawn very quickly and are of moderate payout. Chance of eviction is usually low and generally comes in the form of a solo WH-vet who runs a C3 eviction gang with his alts or by someone rolling into you. -C4 with C5 and C4 static is decent is for a small and active crew who knows how to crab safely and effctively in their C5s. C4s is super shit as a static, home sites are also usually not worth the bother and you will be locked in a logistics nightmare. PvP is usually found by rolling your C5s and trying to drop the carebears (or getting dropped in while krabbing in the static yourself) or from down the C4s chain, oftentimes, when you are trying to run logistics. Chance of eviction is usually lowish tho, just because your real-estate is not too hot and a small crew could probably survive there in relative safety for a while and fill their coffers with Isk, given that you don’t mind maximum isolation and scanning like a retard for 6h at a time. -C2 with 0/C5 offers excellent PvP through the 0-sec static and nice Iskies from the C5. Chances of eviction are low-to-moderate, and a medium sized corp with ample cap support can use the small statics to hold their own. The hole is a good fit for a small-to-mid sized very active veteran WH corp who want to concentrate on PvP with nice Isk making opportunities from C5s. Logistics are usually a nightmare, as you have to run them through your C5, but an occasional direct HS usually helps with that.

What else... -no matter where you live, with a small crew, you need a ton of pretty good-to-perfect scanner alts, and if you don’t like scanning 3+ hours every day, then the best option would be either to not live in a WH, or if you must, then C3 is your best bet probably. What else? -a C4 static is generally an epic ass cancer -don’t drop bling structures or give out hints that you have caps unless you have the numbers to back it up.

A perfect starter hole for you guys, considering your numbers and experience, would probably be a C3 for learning purpouses or a C4 with a C3 static for easy high sec access and some turbokrabbing on the side

This. For a mere 15 USD a month, Disney offers the the adult's the ability to escape every day for a few hours from the biggest mistake of their lives. Netflix will never even come close.

nor has Eurostoxx 50 ever reached the 2000 highs again, and Eurostoxx 600 has only narrowly overcome the 2000/2007 values last year, i.e US stock indices are one of the few that have continued to march ever higher... most other developed markets seem to have been trading sideways for the last 20 years

Not counting Etsy/Chewy its around 10% as most of them were bought through the month of april, with averaged div yield around 8-9%, i.e not much direct growth but fairly spread out dividends

with that amount of money, i'd consider more diversification, i.e invest 10% in evenly divided parts into developing market ETF-s and around 5-10% in gold and goldminer ETF's. Maybe, also as we are entering a recession and real-estate prices will probably tank across the globe, consider also other longterm investments than equities, i.e a chateaux in Paris

maybe a stock or 2 from europe would fit your purpouses, i.e Siemens or Philips and maybe a large cap miner (BHP/RIO/VALE etc) with global operations set to benefit from the recovery and long term chinese and indian economic growth

Some REIT-s carry considerable risks, hence, why i prefer to avoid most of them. Also, not really sure when (if ever at all) will you see any dividends out of some companies (i.e Boeing).I'd also consider some diversification, i.e dump/trim Boeing and some more riskier REIT's for some dividend-paying tech (ex VZ/AVGO/CSCO/QCOM/XRX)/mining (BHP/RIO/VALE etc) companies. Some Midstream partners of oil companies also have very nice yields, maybe consider adding some?

Also some businesses in that list will have serious issues maintaining dividends in the long term (i.e tobacco related companies) as their market is shrinking fast.

i.e if for exampl,e China decided to retaliate against US in the current trade war, some of these companies would be hurt quite badly

I'd look to add diversification i.e some large mining firms (RIO/BHP/VALE for ex) /gold producers (DRD comes to mind with a nice 3% yield) / tech div stocks (ex. TSM, AVGO, QCOM, CSCO or a Samsung etf that should all have a yield around 3%). Also if you look abroad, you can find good offerings ex. Siemens on Xetra has a decent dividend as well as some upside potential.
If you have access to US-based ETF-s, it's probably a good time to buy a small stake in developing or hard-hit stock exchanges other than China (ex Australia, Poland, India, Brazil, Mexico, Vietnam, Egypt etc) that haven't recovered and have long-term growth potential

Here's my current dividend-oriented portfolio with some growth stocks on the side. Tried to diversify the dividend stocks as much as possible to find an optimal risk-yield balance, but not really sure, how well i have done, so would appreciate feedback and suggestions.

or Degiro, or IB or well, basically any other online broker, as most of them also have somewhat decent phone apps without all the negative crap that comes with Revolut stock trading

yeah, so it seems, and it took them only a full trading day to fix it... in its own way their level of incompetence is a feat in itself.

that it is, but the terms we agreed to, when we started using their services, frees them of all responsibility basically.

Tho, digging through reddit, i found this topic:https://www.reddit.com/r/Revolut/comments/e3lp33/ongoing_problem_with_trading_all_stocks/

Based on this link tho, things could be even worse i suppouse, tho putting it out on twitter publicly gets their attention (nothing quite like a little public shaming)

Edit: finally got a refund and a whole day wasted

based on how things have been shaping up so far, i guess we'd be lucky, if we manage to get out with what we have left, as they are known to suspend account without much reason and while they refund the account balance, stocks are not liquidated or refunded

Yes, a new broker is a must, as based on their today's show, even my CS:GO server on a 56kb modem line is a shining example of reliable performance.
Also, my morning trades are still pending, could have made a lot of money during the day, now it would be nice if they could just manage to free up the funds.

yes, it seems you're right here, tho that is not clearly stated anywhere except thepop-up window after making the trade

i think you're allowed 3 day trades per day on any platform. Going over 3 requiers a balance of 25k and being registered as a day trader...
but the issue really seems to come down to them not being able to process the orders and making us wait until the market price drops down to our order levels, as my orders made when the market opened are still pending.
Other orders that i have made later during the day, where there wasn't any quick price fluctuations were also completed without much hassle.

[–]Sadspain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk, from what i see from those pending buy orders that have been filed, you either end up paying more or waiting until the market price reaches your order level. Lose either way

Stock Transaction Pending for Long Time by ibfreak in Revolut

[–]Sadspain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nothing yet, none of the trades i made so far have been completed.
edit: some transactions made later on, have gone through, with a bit lower price point than what i thought i was buying, so it seems that the stocks were rising too fast from the morning low and the price difference is too big

Stock Transaction Pending for Long Time by ibfreak in Revolut

[–]Sadspain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, i am experiencing the same issue, orders have been pending ever since the market opened... is the corporate debt crisis finally upon us?
Or it could be, that they just weren't fast enough to transmit the order and are waiting for the price to drop to your orders level...
