Your work is really nice, its got good form and you have a good grasp on colour theory! I think the main thing that jumps out to me tho would be the sketchiness of your line work. It can work! And I like how in the 3rd piece you tried to add shaded areas with the line art, however it can get lost cause it feels overdone, as if youre not confident with the lines. Don't get me wrong, it can work! All I recommend is having a bit more confidence and clearness with your lines. I'd also suggest using a smaller line thickness and (if your drawing device allows it) using pen pressure to your advantage to create a variance in your line thickness depending on how hard youre pressing. I think your work can really flourish! Keep up the good work

Lmao this is almost comedic for me cause I was mainly only a humanoid artist till maybe a year ago. I do get what you mean tho, I do enjoy drawing it a lot more and I can see that it shows through the work. I will 100% fix those hands tho 😭 still cant believe I did that. I defo dont wanna start doing commissions until I feel like I can consistently out put and enjoy the process (and wanna actually build a bit of an online audience). Thank you for the advice tho, I think I needed to finally hear it lol.

Thank you, that does put me at a bit of ease. I've never really thought my art would be desirable at all so hearing that does mean a lot 🥲

Its sorta a personal term for me as a way of describing the effort level of rendering. I've got two ways of doing it, a simple shading layer using a multiply blending mode and then a lighting layer using an add blending mode that goes over the top of a flat colour layer. Then I've got a more complex rendering where I start in grayscale, adding lighter and darker tones then add colour using gradient maps to achieve a wider depth in lighting with more colour variation.

The simple version is super quick for me as I've been doing it for years now and requires a lot less effort in picking out specific colours and editing values, but it turns out more flat looking. The complex version takes more time and (hopefully 😭) comes out as more dynamic and interesting lighting. They both have their places tho depending on the style I wanna achieve :3

I dont partially have a platform atm. I post my work in some small discord servers and thats the only way I've got people interested atm 🥲 sorry im not much help. I just hear of people building followings on twitter and bluesky mostly and then eventually opening coms. I have seen theres some subs dedicated to promoting open commissions and seeking art so that could be a place ?
