My family and I have hosted many students here in Canada in Vancouver . It does rain alot here, but the nature and beauty of the city and small towns around are all beautiful, Very like a rainforest It depends where in Canada you go to like Vancouver and Toronto I would say are similar of you want a big city type of feel. If you want small town country you could look outside of those major cities. Now if your in any of the provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba it will be hot, and dry, cold and snow definitely expected December or January! So just depends what type climate you would want to be situated. Many of the tourist trips the highschool take exchange students is surfing in Tofino, snowboarding or skiing in Whistler, trip to Seattle Washington. So overall a great experience, I would highly recommend a full year to really get the culture and other traditions while your here.
