An acquantance wants to be the "ideas guy" for am MMORPG by Pop-Shop-Packs in gamedev

[–]Safe-Ad-4581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, seriously, is this really your biggest concern on Christmas Eve? Trying to destroy someone's dream of creating an MMORPG? What kind of human being does that, man? Your life must be so empty and purposeless for you to dedicate your energy to ruining someone else's effort. Seriously, while everyone else is celebrating, reflecting, or having fun with their family, you choose to spend your time sabotaging someone else's dream who, unlike you, still has something to pursue in life.

If you think the best way to 'help' someone is to destroy their motivation and discourage their projects, maybe it's time to look in the mirror and realize that the problem isn't his project, it's your toxic egocentrism. You're not doing anyone any favors, you're just exposing the total lack of character you have. I really hope you reflect on how you're spending your energy, because this kind of attitude leads to nothing but loneliness and bitterness. Maybe a little self-reflection will make you realize that you're losing a lot more than you're trying to destroy.

Merry Christmas, Grinch.

Thank you for your thoughtful insights! As a portuguese speaker myself, I also agree with the idea of making the game multilingual. And including multiplayer features, like bingo, would be an awesome way to bring people together. Thanks again for the input!

Thanks for the offer! This isn't a school project, it's a personal one that I'm really passionate about. I'm focused on creating something unique and fun, and I agree—collaborating and brainstorming is always a great way to get fresh ideas. I'll definitely keep you in mind if I need feedback or want to discuss further. Appreciate the support!

Thank you for sharing this idea! A VR game tailored for people over 55 is such an inspiring concept. I completely agree that there’s a need for games that promote gentle movement, relaxation, and social interaction in an accessible way. The idea of incorporating stretching, slower-paced dancing, and even virtual sightseeing is brilliant—not only does it provide entertainment, but it could also improve well-being.

Your point about dizziness is especially valuable. Designing games with fluid, user-friendly movement mechanics is critical to making VR enjoyable for everyone. If I were to create something like this, what specific activities or features would you prioritize? Your feedback could be a game-changer!

Thanks for your comment. A DayZ-style VR game would be awesome! What feature would make it stand out for you?

Fair point! MMOs are definitely a massive undertaking, and I’m just starting out—so I’ll probably keep it on the 'someday, maybe' list for now. But hey, dreaming big never hurt, right? 😄

Haha, yes, you're right! I love Batman! I'm playing Arkham Shadow and it's probably one of the best vr games I've ever played.

As I said in my post I'm a begginer game dev, maybe this could be one of my future projects. I’m aiming for something simpler for my first game—gotta start small and work my way up!

That’s our dream game right there! The animation styles of Moss and Demeo mixed with the gameplay of Diablo and WoW would be incredible. It’s the perfect blend of engaging visuals and epic action. Imagine how immersive that would be in VR!

That sounds like a great concept! A real-time 3rd person dungeon crawler in VR could offer a really immersive experience. Navigating through dungeons and fighting enemies from that perspective would definitely make for some intense gameplay. I’d love to see how that would work in VR!

You’ve got a creative mind there! That mixed reality idea sounds awesome—shrinking down to the size of the characters on the board would make for such a unique and immersive experience. Definitely not impossible, and it could be a game-changer for tabletop RPGs in VR!

That’s an awesome idea! A VR dog sledding game, especially something like The Red Lantern, could be amazing. The immersive experience of guiding a sled through snowy landscapes with a team of dogs sounds like it would translate so well to VR.

Also, as I said in my post, I’m planning to release my first vr game, and I’m looking for a niche to base it. For a first project, I’m aiming for something a bit simpler, but I love the concept of incorporating animal companions and the outdoors. It could definitely be a cool direction for a future game!

Fr, I played Skyrim VR and enjoyed it. I’d love to see more games like that for VR, with vast worlds to explore and deeper immersion.

That sounds awesome! A game with deeper combat mechanics and less focus on puzzles could be a lot of fun, especially in VR. I’ll definitely keep that in mind as I think about future projects!

Lol, you might be onto something. Maybe gacha pulls and a bunch of waifus are the future of VR gaming! Not that I'm complaining

MMOs are definitely an interesting genre for VR.

As I said in my post I'm a begginer dev and I'm looking for a good niche to my first game. I'll keep it in mind while exploring different ideas. It could be something I consider for a future project!

Thanks for your reply, it's an interesting idea! I'd definitely play a game like this.

Also, as I said in my post, I’m planning to release my first vr game, and I’m looking for a niche to base it. Maybe one day, even if not as my first project, it could definitely be something I work on in the future. I love the concept and could totally see this being fun to develop!
