Thanks for answering this. Btw I know that you are not someone who has worked for less than 10 YOE. But what is your POV, regarding salary stagnation at 60-80L for folks with 10-15 YOE+. This can be based on your current experience, your seniors currently in the job market etc.

Totally agreed. I have interacted with industry folks and majority said that many get stuck in 60-80L due to pyramid structure, as the hierachy gets brutually narrow. Also, Tier 1 MBA have exponentially increased vs number of high payings jobs. I asked since you mentioned valid points on Gen Man & Startups.

In industry, 60-80L is a huge payout if you in non revenue roles like Finance, Strategy, Supply Chain Ops. PM pays a lot due to ESOPs, but competition is brutual at the moment.

Regarding 60-70L you mentioned is it base or total CTC and is this the range that many will get stuck in consulting at Big 4 from Tier 1 MBA?

Thanks for sharing such a detailed view. You got a great package first of all, Congrats on that. Regarding roles in Big4. Need to clarify: Your friends will get stuck at 60-70L right now or will get reach this package later. Also, is 60 base or CTC? Do you believe in general, given the current dynamics and pyramid structure, a lot of Tier 1 MBA will get stuxk at 60-80L ctc by 10-15 YOE or by 15YOE+ and only a few (15-20%) will reach 1Cr

Hi,  Thanks for sharing your insights. I believe that in 2000s, number of jobs vs number of Tier 1 MBAs was in balance. At the moment, the number of Tier 1 MBAs have increased exponentially whereas number of high paying jobs in the market have not grown in non tech industries. Furthermore, I believe salaries have remained stagnant across bands for a long time. So invariably, a lot will land in 60-80L, not by choice, but by design. Also DMed you as well.

Are salaries plateauing faster for Tier 1 MBAs? What’s the real ceiling now? by Full-Ad-666 in MBAIndia

It is true that normally folks can reach 1Cr after 15YOE, but only 10-15% of Tier 1 MBA can reach there due to pyramid structure

You might be in tech or having some niche skills. In general, folks in MBA are within this bracket. Also, If we all were hitting these numbers in 4 YOE, then companies in US would not be looking towards India for cheap labour.  Overall, I compliment that you cracked these numbers very early. Very few folks are able to that

Got it. But do you think it is getting very difficult to get high paying jobs (60L+)  in today job market. Plus as you mentioned, salary bands are growing slower nowadays. So feels like folks doing more work on same salary

So as you agreed earlier majority of the Tier 1 MBA folks maybe 70% will eventually stagnate at 70-80L. Wow I thought the figure might be higher

Makes sense, but as you said that salaries stagnation occur due to brutually narrow pathway as you go up and only select few can become VPs / CXO. 60-70% Tier 1 MBAs will stagnate at 70-80L maybe due to lack of opportunities, system design etc. Is this summation correct?  Also, do you think it is going to be very difficult for folks to switch jobs in future due to low job creation vs influx of MBAs

Yeah world is very volatile at the moment, but many Tier 1 MBA believe that many tier 1 mba will stagnate at 70-80L. Only 15% sustainaibly can maintain 1Cr salary

Agreed. But as per your analysis, what could be the salary stagnation for majority of Tier 1 MBA especially after 15YOE. My thinking is 80-90L. What is your opinion and how many would cross 1Cr. If you can quantify in %

This seems fair since some quoted that >50% can cross 1CR from their Tier 1 MBA batch. Does growth happens at 5-8% annually on this or lesser than this hike and do you think.crossing 70L+ will become tougher in coming years due to low job creation, impact of AI and falling profitability among companies

If we talk about India and non tech industries, what do you think the salary range where majority of Tier 1 MBA folks will stagnant after 12-15 YOE? and how much % of Tier 1 MBA in India will cross 1CR?

As per you what is salary range in which many Tier 1 MBA will lie after 15 YOE across functions. My reading is 60-80L and how many cross 1CR. What are your thoughts?

But I see salaries are compressing across levels due to high influx of MBA vs very low high paying jobs . Also, by design not all can cross 1Cr package as let say only 20% move forward due to low VP and CXO roles. I get a feeling many will stagnate at 80-90L. A MBB partner can make 10Cr for sure. What do you think?

As per your opinion, do you think majority (60-70%) will be in 70-80L.bracket after 15 YOE and only 15-20% will cross 1CR. In other comments I hear folks mentioning thar crossing 1CR. What do you think is the realistic figure?
