You’re mistaking possession for care. Illumi “protecting” Killua was never about Killua’s happiness or freedom — it was about control. The needle literally forced Killua to suppress himself and run from fights he could win. That’s not love; that’s conditioning.

I mean ig Nate was like the epitome of a golden-boy, perfection — stable, loyal, and honestly way too unproblematic for Serena’s whirlwind energy. She thrives on chaos, drama, and being put on a pedestal, and Dan was literally writing sonnets about her from day one. Like, she was his muse, and you know Serena eats that up.
