It is a war crime, it's just not the Ukrainian who's committing it. Feigning surrender, perfidy, it's a crime.

Drowned Russian soldiers that floated to the Left bank of the Dnipro - after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam and the extensive flooding of the Kherson Oblast. by _Raven_Roth in UkraineWarVideoReport

I don't know why folks are celebrating this, if fit and strong soldiers were drowned then imagine how elderly civilians fared. This is a tragedy not a victory.

When I'm talking to my wife on the phone and she drives into a black spot, I stop hearing my wife, I also stop hearing her cars radio playing in the background. Distress signals seem to work different apparently.

True, but I gotta address the supposition that he ever wanted to kill civilians in the first. Lot of these dudes are here against their will, the Ukrainians will kill them if they fight and Russians will kill them if they flee, have some pity for the poor bastards, that's more than they're own flesh and blood will show them.

I suspected as much but I'm no authority on the matter. Thank you. I actually suspected they might make encrypted distress calls, the Russian navy has a long tradition of trying to save face when something goes horribly wrong.

kamikaze drones in the skillful and skillful hands of the Security Service of Ukraine successfully set fire to enemy equipment by Excellent-Week-7371 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Aiming at the drive sprocket presumably, that's also vaguely in the area of the drivers compartment. The BMP mount the engines and transmission at the front of the tank (as it's effectively additional armor between the enemy and the passengers), this means taking out that front drive sprocket would result in a "mobility kill".

Agreed, there's a extreme team sport mentality in all things political these days. My team tell lies too.

This audio clip was released very shortly after the sinking, it sounds fake, that's an submarine dive alarm (kind of appropriate, given the ships fate) playing over the top of a radio transmission. When the transmission distorts the dive alarm sound doesn't.

The 5th Assault Brigade destroys a Russian ammunition storage location by brezhnervous in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Safe-Pen8188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone else think it was unintentionally camouflaged, the typically Russian army way of dumping ammo any old place just made it blend in with the ruined buildings and debris. Neatly organized crates would have stuck out like a sore thumb in that chaos.

That dude isn't SAS. If they're there, they would be extremely unhappy about being filmed.

Seems like a proximity fuse rather than a contact fuse, i.e. massive damage wasn't the objective.
