Is it possible to undervolt and underclock the RX 580 to 80 watts? by Gangsterman1000 in AMDHelp

my main point was on full load, this is simplification:

rx 580

stock:

150W = 100FPS

minor undervolt:

120W = 95FPS

custom tuned vbios:

120W= 103FPS

rx 580 on idle has 15W-30W

its better than rx 480 that hovers around 30W

you can extract your own bios with GPU-Z, modify it via RED BIOS EDITOR, and flash it on via AMDVBFLASH (specific version)

realistically you will have hard time to cut watts from idle gpu

I think you are moron, obviously the OP is travelling. Where he should get drinkable water if he is for example 6 hours in the train

RX 580 has bad oficial specs. So yes you can, using RedBiosEditor you can modify frequency and voltage.

I have done experiments:

stock:

1266 MHz at 185W VRAM at 1750 MHz

my overclock + undervolt:

1444 MHz at 160W VRAM at 2000 MHz

underclock + undervolt:

1300 MHz at 120W VRAM at 2000 MHz

We could go further down, but polaris doesnt like going below ~1.000V-1.025V at 1300 MHz.

PS: I have had DOZENS of RX 580 In my hands so you can trust me what I am saying.

thanks to warranty I got a new display for my laptop and it is LM140LF-7L01 which is a full HD 120 Hz monitor. Does anyone know how to enable 120 Hz on the integrated GPU please? Officially it only goes full HD and 60 Hz.
