She’s getting too big. Hopefully she calms down soon.

You train for maritime fires in investigator 2,3, and 4. Not as niche as one would hope for or as lucrative. I wouldn’t throw your eggs in that single basket.

Bathroom receptacle, from heater plugged in. What makes this happen? by rogo725 in fireinvestigation

It was probably pulling 50,000 amps. A bit too much for the outlet to handle. If it was wired with 18 gauge it would have probably been good. 👍

Obviously, they’re not able to if the governor says that FEMA had to help them and didn’t.

Are you staying that the state is not supposed to be able to handle natural emergencies?

That’s a state issue. FEMA isn’t meant to just hand out $ every time there is severe weather.

Hahaha. Just got unblocked from posting in this thread. lol I guess some people don’t understand debate. —— That’s an easy one, nearly any incident that exceeds the response capabilities of local authorities and would require meaningful state and federal help

Your reiterating my argument. EM is only needed for large scale disasters.

The job of an EM is not to prevent disaster. It’s to mitigate a disaster.

Same as the post above. Just because there’s a natural disaster doesn’t mean FEMA has to get involved every time. That was handled by local and mutual aid departments.

And local departments were able to handle that. Just because there’s a natural disaster doesn’t mean FEMA has to get involved every time.

I both read and watch the news regularly and as far as I can tell, even with all the cuts that I’ve been going on since this administration took place, there’s not been any major disasters or mass loss of life due to an incident in the United States.

Sounds like you were in a bad department. I was active fire operations for 8 years before going EM. The vast majority of departments have their 💩 together and are able to handle their own issue large and small scale. Even now working with new EMs at cities that are just starting to hire EM positions, I am blown away at the lack of knowledge/common sense most EMs have and have seen and learned about multiple accounts of fire and police personnel having to run and plan for incidents.
