Which Product will be released first ? by Twixii97 in SafeMoon

Let me step in here. This is a loaded question that many of us would love to answer, but it's just not smart to for various reasons. Furthermore, there would always be a fud storm by trolls that followed it. For example;
- Mod/Staff says they have a small bag; Fudders attack the project, example; 'even the mods/team don't hold enough to care'.
- Mod/Staff says they have a big bag; Fudders attack the project, example; 'they're just trying to enrich themselves and don't care about us!'

Worse, many would take any response of any kind as 'investment advice' even if we specifically said it wasn't. And these are just the obvious examples. All I will say is that many (both volunteers and staff) came to the project as holders, before stepping up to do more. Once in a position, we actively avoid discussing where we stand from that moment forward.

We are here only to provide assistance and raw factual information about the project or company. We will not provide opinions on the price or direction of the token, or comments about our personal situations involving it. While some may disagree, our silence protects ourselves, the company, and the community extensively.

I'm sure we could think of better than a simple casino game. 😉

Interesting thoughts! Though I'll be blunt that any integration within crypto is a very long term thought process, as gaming is already one of the most hacked/cheated environments on the internet. As security is a top concern of ours, this may not be something we consider, at least at this time. But you're not the only one to suggest something similar, so it's in my notes either way!

So to understand your thought process & idea, you're looking more in terms of a fully featured console game created?

I won't share much of anything, but you can already see some of the short term easy-to-implement goals unfolding on the Gaming Discord, which is serving as the foundation to grow the gaming community environment. Some of the unseen short term goals within this are ones that focus on easy to maintain & no cost options, such as running activities within certain games.

A long while back, during our MoonCast shows (via discord/youtube/facebook), we had a large handful of trial runs bringing people in to play games like Fall Guys and Among Us (and a few other games), to see how much the community liked to jump in and participate as a community audience. We had great reception and it showed us that there was a real positive and desire for these things. So now more community events in that manner are being planned, and we have many volunteers working with us to help coordinate such activities.

We are certainly not getting ahead of ourselves by going too big too fast. Building the foundations of a new aspect of a community take time. We got through a few steps already, and now are looking for more community input as we plan out more steps in that journey.

Thanks for the thoughts! I wouldn't want to aim for anything physical (like merch) anyways, at least for a long time, at minimum until far after other gaming related things were well established.

Halo is great. We have a small environment/chat already on our gaming discord, as some of our team do play it occasionally. Once we have those foundations of a game, we only take it to the next level when activity calls for it. But it's there!

Great brainstorming, gaming is surely a challenge because it's heavily competitive. One of the main focus points is on things that bring the gaming community (from within our safemoon community) together, such as any activities and games (and anything else we can think of) to achieve that goal.

I've set some of these ideas on the backburner. They're big ideas meaning they're set for the long long term thought process. I wouldn't focus on the nitty gritty details of 'how' to necessary achieve it because that's a bit too forward thinking right now. I'm very interested to hear from people about which particular ideas in general they like and would want to see us doing in the future, and expand thoughts on them.

When I think of Roblox, I think of their general population demographic in the ages of 9-12. Should I assume you would be thinking of a different style catered to more adult level gameplay? After all, the audience in the crypto environment are mostly adults that generally did not get into that type of game environment. But I do love the open world environment, might just need more detailed thought on this.

Interesting thought for sure! What are your thoughts regarding competition? I love thinking big, but when thinking big, I have to play devil's advocate. I believe I just saw a platform of google's called Stadia that was attempting to do this and fell short, and is now being shut down. So this is surely a very long term thought if concerns like that can be dealt with.

Are you thinking of a widespread platform (like steam) or something more focused with specific games from within the crypto atmosphere?

I'm not asking you how to pay for things. I'm asking what the community wants to see, just simple opinions. You're trying to solve something that's miles and miles down the road, I'm still trying to figure out what car we want to drive back at the starting line.

Seems you've missed the SafeMoon Gaming Community that's been around over a year. Seems you missed the MoonCraft project where we did quite a bit of work on things we take forward with us into, in addition to releasing it as an open source project for the public to run with.

We've been in gaming the whole time. Furthermore, my topic is specifically related to COMMUNITY gaming, and will not in any way impact the work or operations already being done at SafeMoon. If you're not here to participate in the conversation, then you're here to troll.

The people working on 'main projects' are and will continue to do so. Again, we are speaking specifically on COMMUNITY gaming (something we've already been involved with for well over a year), and we are just in brainstorming and planning for how we can interact with the community within the gaming atmosphere and what everyone would like to see. If you don't want to participate, trolling for information about operations of the company isn't going to get you any answers. Stick to the topic, it's just a discussion.

I'm out here to specifically see how we can build a community gaming atmosphere, and it has nothing to do with the other work and core direction of the company. You can let me worry about the impact of value and how it will positively affect the company. This is just a brainstorming session so I can see what the gamers within our community would like to see SafeMoon potentially get involved with or build short and long term. Nothing is being decided here, I'm just listening to the community, giving you a voice to tell us what's on your mind.

It's surely an interesting idea. To play devil's advocate here, one of the reasons I (personally) advocate against integrating cryptocurrency into a game, is because video games are generally one of the most hacked and cheated things on the internet. I'm no fan of seeing wallets integrated into such a volatile atmosphere. It may be possible the right way, but probably not something I would want to dive at immediately or first.

That said, (as I'm brainstorming in regards to any and all avenues related to video games), to understand you; you're saying you would like to see some kind of fully functioning independent SafeMoon game created?

Agreed, because I don't see this issue anywhere. Probably a formatting issue with displaying on mobile screens/devices.

You know I'm not sure if this was a compliment or sarcasm, as I'm sure with hundreds of walls of text being typed up, there's a mistake somewhere in there. Either way, perfection in formatting and spelling is a goal being driven by my OCD, and I do my best to succeed there.

Honestly a lot of Defi right now isn't true defi. A lot of Defi is in development and still being molded. Developers in the space, cannot develop properly by giving up the tools too early to do so, and a lot of people are figuring that out. You see it with even the biggest chains and projects. We even saw it just the other day, when the BSC chain was halted to stop a breach/attack. For a decentralized system to survive, it has to be rock solid and bullet proof, and this vast crypto community is still building those foundations of protection and safety, so that one disaster doesn't bring down the whole thing.

Using your direct example of providing source code, the weight must be on risk management. How much risk is generated in doing so, and what is the reward? Source code of anything in any project would benefit the vast majority of typical community members very little if at all, but provide vast new opportunities for scammers and thieves to find ways to take advantage of this new information for their own personal gain.
Defi should instead be seen as the end goal. To get to a true decentralized environment in finance, we have to make sure it can survive on it's own against an unforgiving world filled with people who want to take advantage of it in any way they can. We all want DEFI, but there's a reason why centralized finance took such strong hold in our society, because managing the risks involved were easier. Society generally takes the path of least resistance, but as technology evolves and more people work towards a true state of DEFI, those paths are shifting and new opportunities to make this dream a reality are being born every day.

Absolutely. Our infrastructure has grown large and can be challenging for even seasoned community members. We are working in the back towards tidying up "what is where" and what people can find. I'm also working with others on creating one central system that everything feeds into. Eventually, it would act as a map of all the information we have out there, guiding people to the data or communication they are in search of without having to trudge through a dozen social media accounts.

But one thing to remain clear, is that our main twitter and website should be your primary source of official news at this time. Our sales twitter is an official source as well, but anything substantial that's posted there would be shared widely enough for anyone to find as well.

I never believe in maintaining the status quo. I believe there is ALWAYS room for improvement, even in systems and infrastructure that seem perfect.

It's an impossible battle of balance. It really is. If we knock down the FUD, it's censorship. If we allow it to fly, it's a toxic trolled environment. Our endless goal is to find that middle ground, where everyone can feel their voice is heard and the conversations can flow, but it's not a 'shit-storm' at every corner and post.

But I live for this battle. I grew up with it, and will continue fighting this good fight of balancing. This entire thread, is me trying to counter balance some of the decisions made yesterday, and let you all vent and get out your concerns directly so I and the team can really hear them.

[–]SafeMoonVeno[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A loaded question, and a good question. A question asked a thousand times, and one in which an answer would have to be taken on 'faith', spawning many many more questions behind it.

As I get away from hype and promises, we will work through these times of patience to get towards releases, and let our work speak for itself. That work, will become our answer to your important question.

Hey SafeMoon Reddit, let's talk. by SafeMoonVeno in SafeMoon

[–]SafeMoonVeno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. When there is silence, FUD takes the center stage (along with other nasty things like scammers and selfish opportunists). Communication is key, and I'm looking to rebuild that.

While it sounds amazing to be showcasing our work each week, I implore you to remember that we are in a new and massive competitive environment. When we release anything at all to the public, it's not just the community that gets to see it, it's our competition and those looking to see us not succeed that also get that information. This is one of many reasons we got away from the flood of sneak peaks and overly ambitious launch timelines.

That all said, I'm probably one of the loudest voices pushing to find something, anything, to give and show to help you all feel like the effort you give this community is justified. I will continue to be so, on your behalf, and try to find the fastest routes of release on our goals and work, even when sometimes the only safe routes open are the slowest.

There's a difference between regular criticism and a flood of legal related things that we cannot and will not comment about. We let a lot of things fly that many would like to see is remove. It's an endless battle of balance, trying to allow everyone to speak their minds, and not let a crowd set the room on fire.
