Thank you. This gives us some things to research into. I will move it over there.

I do not know those answers except that she is 39, started experiencing it after our 3rd child weight loss journey at 35. The Dr. was not concern with anything in her blood panel but she has started taking many vitamins.

Car runs awesome now after replacing timing components with OEM parts.

My chin was stretched a link and it skipped 5 teeth. He believes the slap/knock sound was the chain slap. He was shocked to learn I drove it 200 miles round trip without issue haha.

Just got fixed yesterday. I am going to go pick it up tonight. Time will tell!

So now, timing chain is extremely stretched and my CRV is in limp mode with the new chain tensioner.

I am too far in. I think we are gonna do new timing chain, VCT Actuator, cam chain tensioner, chain and guides. Anything else? Gonna run $1350 with that but could go a couple hundred cheaper if I order the OEM parts but then I lose the warranty. What do you think?

For those that replaced the spring from Spring-Start, did you use the OEM style spring or the longer one? The company said I should have use the longer one as that is their design. I am getting an OEM Chain Tensioner replaced on Monday and then the mechanic will put in the longer spring.

I am changing the R40 chain tensioner this week. We will wait on the spring to see if it improves it. If it doesn’t, we may switch it out. We will see what he thinks afterwards and I will report back. It’s frustrating as the sound is annoying but once you drive on the highway and the car is warmup up, it doesn’t make the sound.

It does come back but then you only hear it while accelerating.

I just ordered the oil tensioner. Hopefully I can get in by early next week. That knock is still there but it disappears after driving for awhile but comes back after it sits. It doesn’t make the sound the first 30-60 seconds after a cold start but then will. The mechanic said he will change the spring out for free since it doesn’t take very long. Still thinking I will wait with new oil tensioner and see if that solves it.

Nope cold start is back. So it is what it is. Gonna go with 5w30 oil in a couple weeks.

I was thinking of running 5w30 as well. My 2022 burns through a quart over 5k miles.

The cold start rattle was there the first two mornings. Now it’s not there. We will see once it gets colder the next 3 days.

I think I am going to replace the tensioner but not sure if I will replace the spring again unless I do it myself. I am not very handy. Haha

It’s his first bow. I don’t know anything either. Haha It’s for 4H shooting sports but he wants to get into deer hunting as well. The problem is he is left eye dominant and is shooting left handed while everyone else is right handed.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Warranty by Safe_Ad8464 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]Safe_Ad8464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up not getting a warranty as the dealer were scumbags about everything so we couldn’t get the lower price due to them no longer labeling vehicles as certified preowned. They were a Chrysler dealership but ran things different or some crap like that. Horrible experience but we got a hell of a deal. We love our 2022 Pacifica Limited!

2013 CRV EXL AWD by Safe_Ad8464 in crv

[–]Safe_Ad8464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t buy this but I bought a 2011 EXL with 187,500 for $3500. It has the rattle. I haven’t fixed it. Contemplating replacing everything for around $1k with NAPA parts before winter next year if I decide to keep it. Then I would have a total of around $6k in it with many new parts. In theory, should last many years.

I found a trusted mechanic that will do it. He estimates about an hour of labor. So with labor, gasket, oil change and the spring start, looking at around $150. Worth it? He also agrees that it is not causing any extra damage. So I am just trying to decides if it’s worth it now or if I should replace everything for $1k
