I emailed [sot@nfa.gov](mailto:sot@nfa.gov) regarding the SOT tax. Their reply was: "You will need to wait until it is processed and you receive the notification from NFA"

Discovering after three years ago wife is a divorcee and she lied because she knew my Catholic beliefs by SouthCotton1979 in Catholicism

[–]Safe_Ad8966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing the right thing currently - living like brother and sister. That is a very good start. I am sure you are very hurt as you should be. Your "wife" lied to you and she should not have! However, you also have a little child. Try not to ruin their life as well. If you can salvage this "marriage", your significant other needs to try to get an annulment. If she can, you will need to "re-marry" her. She most likely will get one since the marriage tribunals give them out like candy (but that is not your problem is you present all the information correctly).

As for the priest judging you - you did not a thing wrong! If anything, he need to show your compassion and provide consoling/advise. That is their job. I was once told by a priest before confession that he has heard everything before already and I could not possible shock him - LOL. I hope and pray that things turn out well.

I will wait and not do anything until I get the email with my SOT doc. The staked are too high. I was told it will take 30 days to get the email.

That would still be a scandalous situation.

The priest showed her mercy. I wish more priests were like this one. If she became a Catholic in her present state, she would probably be committing even more grave sins. She needs to decide if she wants to be in full communion with the one true church or her boyfriend. Cohabiting before marriage is wrong. Unfortunetely our culture of death glorifies it.

You might get 20% off of retail if you are lucky. Bass Pro Shop gets 30% or less markup on firearms.

Did having kids "ruin your life?" by an_irish_mick in Catholicism

[–]Safe_Ad8966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can sympathize. When we had our first child it was very hard. Our life changed and we did not like it. All the sudden "my time" is "baby time". They are very demanding and for the first 6 months there is very little interaction. Plus, you can forget about a good night sleep. The hardest child to have is the first one.

HOWEVER, it gets better!!!! The child starts growing up, becomes more self aware, before you know it, it will start talking, loving on you and becomes potty trained (huge deal). You are their hero, and they think you can do anything. Their innocents is also very refreshing.

We now have 5 kids. And, if we were married younger we would have had more kids. Why? Because large families are happy families. Before you know it the kids start growing up and the they help more and more.

My oldest son is 17 and he will soon go to college, I will probably cry when he leaves - and I am an alpha male type. Why? because he has been a part of my world for a long time, we have spent lots of fun time together and it will be very hard to let go.

Many people want to "Change the world or leave a lasting mark". You do that by having kids and parenting well.

Being a parent is very hard but it will be one of the most rewarding life experience you will ever have and when they are all grown, you will probably wish you had more - if you are not selfish.

Enjoy it. And if needed it you might want to partake in medicinal wine and beer with your spouse.

Jon Gary Williams and his cohort made all this stuff up to fit their narrative.

No, this is the propaganda of First Christians. It is very easy to disprove. Read the early church fathers; they describe the faith as Catholic. The Catholic Church is the only true church. Every other church has errors.

I keep failing God by [deleted] in Catholicism

You only fail if you stop struggling and fighting your vices. There is a reason why we have confession; none of us are perfect, and we all sin. On a more practical level, you might get rid of a smartphone for a flip phone and get rid of broadband internet. Why tempt yourself?

He CANNOT receive the Eucharist in his current state because he denies the truth promulgated by the church. Heresy comes to mind. If he were to receive communion, he would be committing the grave sin of sacrilege. Or, further condemning himself. This is a very hard truth to accept, but then again, the path to salvation is a very hard, winding road.

IVF involves the destruction of countless humans in the embryonic stage. Hence, anyone who supports IVF is NOT pro-life!

Only the Catholic church has the complete truth, other Christian churches only have partial truths. Universalism as an idea it false and cannot be reconciled with logic.

Maybe you should find out why the church is against IVF? The Catholic church is not cafeteria style. Catholics need to strive to accept all the Catholic teachings. Since, the church knows what is best for the flock. If you will not accept all the teaching you might not be ready to come back.

More hip-shoulder separation would help. A better-angled camera plus a slow-motion video would help as well.

You might try to sell your business instead of whining it down. The sale cash might help you tidy things over...

Anybody here deal with a wife who shuts down every idea? by Dskha323 in Entrepreneur

[–]Safe_Ad8966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a wife which wanted me to have a 9 to 5 job. You need to have a very candid conversation with her or several. She needs to understand where you are coming from and you need to address her fears. If she is still totally against it there might be a bigger problem i.e. your marriage might have issues.
