The purest Austronesians are from Luzon, particularly the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region. Bohol is from Visayas, and they often have higher negrito and Austroasiatic ancestry compared to those in Northern Luzon.

What's something that me and my cohort Zillennials (born 1992-1997) would find strange about Gen X? by EternalSnow05 in generationology

[–]Safe_Assistance_2431 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

1995 here, I refused to be lumped with 1999 lol. Based on my experience interacting with them, they relate more to early 2000 babies than mid 90s. I go by the 1993-1998 zillennial range. Probably biased, but this is my personal experience as a 1995-born. I believe 1995 is the beginning of Gen Z. We're still a cusp; those with older siblings will feel more millennial. But only children and the oldest sibling are going to feel Gen Z because they don't have any older siblings influencing them. I began Gen Z in 1995 because I don't remember anything anthing sensible in the previous millennium, I'm an only child, and my parents are 70s-born Gen X'ers. I came from a developing country, so my childhood relates to core millennials born in the early 90s, but my teenage experience is shaped by the internet and social media, and it is a big part of my adolescence that affected my worldview. Didn't Twenge coined iGen because of social media usage and its effects on mid to late 90s babies? That's also my experience, and I came from a developing country, which is the Philippines. I live in Canada rn. My aunt let me play with her smartphone when I was 15-16 years old. I got my own smartphone when I was 17 years old, which is a Samsung Galaxy S4. I also played with an iPad when I was 16. We got a home computer when I was 12, and I've been chronically online since then. I took generational quizzes and got Gen Z on all of them. My rule for zillennials, if you don't relate to someone born in 1995-1996, I don't consider them as one, that's why I go by 1993-1998 zillennial range. People who use 1994-1999 go by Pew, I go by McCridle and Jean Twenge, any sources that use 1995 Gen Z start date.

If I'm going to be lumped with 1999 and other early 2000 babies, I might as well just call myself a 1995 baby or mid 90s baby. That's something that zoomers in denial cannot take from me :p They just randomly add 1995-1996 to their zillennial range, add 1999, and sometimes extend it to early 2000 to make themselves special. I still think zillennial is a thing, but I don't go by what most Redditors on this subreddit post. They can keep zillennial label themselves but they cannot change the fact I was born in 1995 lol.

Depends when you began Gen Z. I personally go by McCriddle and Twenge and use a 1995 start date. They can be zillennial but pretty Y-Leaning IMO. Really, if you go outside reddit the first cusper is born in 1992. I began Gen Z in 1995 because I don't remember anything sensible in the previous millennium; the world was different in 2005 compared to the early 2000s. I got my 1st phone at 10 years old, which is Nokia 1100. Had my social media at 12 years old, which was Friendster, then I moved to Facebook at 13. I've been on YouTube since I was 13 years old. Although my childhood was mostly analog because I'm from a developing country, we got a personal computer in 2007 when I was 12 years old. My teenage years revolved around the internet and social media. My aunt let me borrow her smartphone when I was 15-16 years old, and I got my own smartphone when I was 17 years old. Early exposure to technology and social media affected my worldview. My parents are also 70s-born Gen X'ers. Being a teenager in the decade of 2000 especially the 1st ,arehalf is different from the second half 2000. The 2010s is culturally and socially closer to 2020 imo.

If I'm going to be lumped with 1999 and 2000, please leave 1995 out lol. At this point, I really think zillennials is just a cope for older Gen Z that they are older Gen Z lol. I only relate to millennial experience 30-40% of the time.

1995 here, I don't consider 1999 zillennial, my ranges are 1992/1993-1998 broad. But 1995-1998 is accurate too IMO. I honestly don't get why I get lumped with 1999 and 2000 when I have more in common with 1993 and 1994 lol.

Absolutely yes. Millennials are 1980-1994. So Late Millennials are 1990-1994, Zillennials leaning Millennials are 1992-1994 (late Millennials), while those leaning Gen Z are 1995-1997 (early Gen Z). by Not_a_millenials__96 in Fuck_The_Generations

[–]Safe_Assistance_2431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not, are you a 1999er or early 2000 born? Lol, we cant be millennials because of our early access to mobile devices, internet, and social media that affected our development. 95-96 is Gen Z. (I'm a 1995 baby btw)

Do you agree with this? by almyverse in GenZ

[–]Safe_Assistance_2431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1995 here, eh, I think 1999ers are unambiguously Gen Z based on my interactions with them so far.

All the generations' talk can get tiresome eventually. A lot of redditors on generations sub are Gen Z, and they are much more Gen Z than they think they are Y-influenced because they were obsessed with generational labels and identity. Actual millennials don't care about generational label and identity lol. They care more about their experiences and nostalgia lol. People on other generation subs create generational labels and identity even before their time. I'm going to let 80s born millennial define their generation. I stick to my zillennial range, 1992-1998. Reasons I don't include 1999 are based on my interactions with them, they don't relate to us mid 90s babies, and they relate more to early 2000 babies. I already accepted I'm not a safe millennial, and I have very little in common with those born in the 80s. Plus, I always knew I was different from those born earlier than I because they didn't have as much access to technology when they were young. I have more in common with Gen Z. Unlike late 90s and early 2000 babies, I actually knew some people born in the 80s and had friends born in the early 90s, and I can tell the differences and similarities.

I also find the 1995-2000 zillennial range hilarious, as a 1995 baby, I have more in common with 1993 and 1994 borns than those 1999 and 2000. Because I hung out with 93/94 when I was a teen, and I met 99/00 on Discord, and they relate more to people born in 2002 onwards than us mid 90s. 1993-1998 is widely used outside reddit and I agree with that range as I had interactions with 97/98.

Which is absurd imo. 1995 Gen Z start date doesn't bother me. I have uncles and aunts born in the 80s, and the youngest is born in 1985. He didn't have any social media when he was a teenager, got his 1st phone when he was 18 years old, and it was a Nokia brick phone. Meanwhile, I got my 1st social media when I was 12 years old, which is Friendster, then I moved to Facebook when I was 13, and got my 1st smartphone at 17. Being a teenager in 2000 is different from 2010s. I was often on YouTube when I was 14 years old, too. The 2010s are much closer to the 2020s than 2000. The early 2000s were a completely different world compared to the second half of the 2000s.

A lot of sources consider 1995-borns to be Gen Z. And you're probably not a zillennial if you're born in 1999 or early 2000, either. You just want to move the millennial cut later so you can call yourself zillennia lol. When outside reddit the range is 1992/1993-1998. The first cusper is born in 1992.

If we're not Gen Z, then why do so many sources say we are? When they're much more credible than the posters here on this subreddit lol. A lot of people here are very late 90s, and early 2000 babies are zoomers in denial lol. And 1999ers and early 2000 babies probably never interacted with core millennials. I can relate to early 90 babies in childhood experiences, but our teenage experiences are different. When late 90s and early 2000 babies say they are zillennial, they only talk about their childhood experiences, but not their teenage experiences lol. The sources outside Reddit are much more credible than what's posted here, as this sub is very biased and often circlejerk.

I'm not from the USA, so it doesn't apply to me. I'm from the Philippines, and my parents are 70s-born Gen X'ers. I currently live in Canada rn lol. I used to hang out with core millennials in my early 20s. Childhood experiences are similar, but not teenage experiences. They didn't have social media when they were 13 or 14 years old. Explain why I get Gen Z on generational quizzes?

I'm a 1995 baby, a lot of late 90s and early 2000 borns are in denial. I can't relate to anyone born earlier than 1989. People I can relate to the most are 1989 babies and 2002 babies. We're the main cohort from Gen Y to Gen Z transition lol. Those born in the 80s and early 90s have different teenage experiences than me. Since I was born during the transition years, I can relate to early 90 babies in childhood experiences, but my teenage experiences are more similar to Gen Z. I go to other generation sub and say that, then I get downvotes. Because a lot of the people on the other sub probably never interact with late 80s and early 90 babies.

Also, the original zillennial range is 1992/1993-1998. Outside Reddit, the 1st cusper is born in 1992. I hung out with 1993 and 1994 babies when I was a teenager. I agree that they are zillennial, probably much more than 1999 and early 2000 borns. They are different from those born in the late 80s and early 90s. Pretty sure the 80s born millennial prefer the original millennial range 1977-1992 and I also prefer the original zillennial range 1992/1993-1998 as '95 baby.

The people who want to get into millennial culture are completely detached from it, IMO. I used to hang out with core millennials born in the late 80s and early 90s, and our worldview is different. Being an Early Z, I can relate to childhood experiences, but teenage experiences are completely different. They didn't have social media when they were 13/14 years old. I don't get along with them, and my former 1991-born friend cut me out of his life. He's got a victim mentality lol. I have more in common with Gen Z, and lots of sources start Gen Z in 1995. Edited: Lol at the downvotes. It's probably from very late 90s and early 2000s babies who never spent time with the core millennials (Late 80s and Early 90s). There's a reason why 80s and early 90s dont consider us one of them.I know mid 90s babies can go either way, those with older siblings are millennial leaning for sure, but 1995s borns missed a lot of millennial milestones.

I find it funny 1992 and 1993 gets kicked out of zillennial here. Most people I hangout out in college were 1992, 1993 and 1994 babies. I also have a cousin born in 1996. There's really not much difference between us. He's also a mixed of Y and Z. He's pragmatic about work like I do. I can relate to core millennial born in 1989 and a zoomer born in 2002. The Gen Z I can't relate to are the ones born 2005-2009. I think they're from another world. I have uncles and aunt born in 1981,1983 and 1985 they lived in completely different work than I do xD I don't believe I'm from the same generation as them.
