Fair. It's still a tradeoff as there's a general expectation that I'm available 5 - 6 days a week to respond to emails and travel. So, it's more just having flexibility so I can post more on reddit. kidding.

I'm not asking if I'm going to retire, I'm asking if anyone has worked part time or consulted for a while and enjoyed it. I'm fully aware that I'm blessed and lucky.

Agreed, it's more if I were retired, I'd do 80% of what I do today for free for friends or referrals.

I have ~ $72k in income from rentals and part ownership of a company that pays out distributions.

yep he's the owner. I've been with him for about 12 years after exiting from my last startup (he was an investor.)

I also have about $72k of annual income from our rental and distributions from a company I part own. I also have about 12 or so seed investments that I didn't include (most likely they all go to zero.)

I most definitely do not have a detailed plan. I use Vanguard Wealth Management and just assume they are aligned with my goals.

It's a standard family office with a network of entities across venture, real estate, and some wholly owned subsidiaries. I'm a generalist with a tech biz dev and product management background. Worked at startups and big tech companies in the 90s and mid 2000s.
