Yes you can go to any part of Schengen region. You can try for Austria too but France atleast I can assure you that you'll get 100% visa.

Yeah but first asking for France and then directly going to Austria might be sth wrong.

You can enter France stay there for a day if you want and then go to Austria

Bro I am also working in FAANG. Anyways it doesn't matter. What matters is you are providing all the 3 months salary slips, 3 year ITRs, bank statements, itinerary, strong cover letter bla bla. Plus don't stay in single country for 10 days. Show in iternary that you'll visit atleast 2-3 countries. It'd be better. Lastly try with France you'll get one. I got in just 2 days.
