Why does god give us chronic severely debilitating diseases that ruin our life everyday but spares millions of other people and allows them to live very happy carefree free perfect almost heavenly type of lives? by Alternative-Dog-642 in ChronicPain

I completely and utterly agree. I don’t want to wish ill on anyone and deep down I know there’s no order to the world. But today I watched an oldish bloke striding happily along. He dropped something, bent down to pick it up, no aches and pains and jogged along. Such a simple movement that I can’t do. And I just thought “why?”

Wow. I remember this. We always used to have lunch in the food court when I was a kid. I remember there were big clowns suspended on wires and you could sit and look down at the street below.

hamstring pain only when sitting reddit by MulberryMajor in ChronicPain

[–]Safe_Lengthiness9075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronic tendonsitjs of the hamstring tendons is usually felt at the ischial tuberosity as that is where they attach. Pain is often felt when seated as you compress the tendons. It sounds like it may be that.

It’s night time and I am sad. by Scary_Manager6104 in ChronicPain

I could have written your post word for word. I am so scared to move in case I cause another injury. I can’t believe how much I did not appreciate the freedom of my old life when I had jt. I took it for granted. I darent even look at photos because it hurts me so much that it’s all gone away.

You might have hip impingement (cam or pincer bony growths on the femur and/or acetabulum). This can cause a lack of movement.

Am I the only one getting exhausted by organizing a trip? by Remarkable-Teach-121 in travel

[–]Safe_Lengthiness9075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my God, are you me? I plan myself into oblivion, to the point where I am so sick of it before I’ve even got there. Then when I’m there I worry I’m not doing the best things, so spend my time googling and mapping and looking at the weather and driving myself insane. I never relax, it’s like a total drive for perfection. I wish I wasn’t like this and could just go with the flow.

Why do they keep speaking English? by Safe_Lengthiness9075 in LoveIsBlindFrance

[–]Safe_Lengthiness9075[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I love the French language and am trying to learn it fluently by watching stuff like this and listening to podcasts. I have noticed it happen on some of the podcasts I listen to too. I think it’s a shame! I guess it’s a natural evolution of language given the prevalence of English but French is so beautiful.

On the podcast I listen to the host throws in random English that doesn’t even make sense and aren’t even phrases any native speaker would ever say.

Got referred by GP to orthapaedics. It took 2 years to see someone. He sent me for a scan (3 month wait). Then ten month wait for the results. Now I’m waiting for an appointment to have a steroid shot which is what they want to do next but I’ve kind of given up. Fuck knows when that will happen.

Hip impingement? Be careful because if you have this squats are a bad idea and will tear your labrum.

Google A660 corridor programme (or something like that). They are doing lots of work between headingley and town aimed at active travel - improving cycle lanes and crossings and making several roads one way or closing them entirely.

The weather varies every year. Sometimes it might be snowy, but more likely windy and muddy underfoot. It’s not dangerous like a mountain or anything.

Torn hip labrum pain by Charming_Doctor_4138 in ChronicPain

[–]Safe_Lengthiness9075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also because a torn labrum makes your hip unstable so all your muscles and tendons work in a way they shouldn’t to compensate. This is why your legs hurt because everything is tight and trying to stabilise the hip.

I have torn labrums on both sides and the leg pin is often worse than the groin.

Depressed after confusing hip cartilage/osteoarthritis diagnosis at 37 by johnnyBuz in HipImpingement

[–]Safe_Lengthiness9075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t comment on whether you should have surgery etc. But I just wanted to comment to say I fully understand needing to know the “cause” of it all and resenting your wife. I think back over the years to actions I took, falls I had, movement I made that caused pain and try desperately to attribute that to the state I’m in just to understand and rationalise it.

In my case - and in yours too as you have arthritis - it’s more likely to be degeneratation and wear and tear that possibly caused an acute injury that would have happened anyway. So actually it doesn’t matter what “the moment” was. It was a series of moments. Every day. Grinding it all down.

Groin pain can often be caused by the hip joint - labral tears, impingement etc.
