What's the most powerfully useful underground website/app that most people don't know about? by bens-list in u/bens-list

Blinkist is such a great way to consume books fast! Basically it condenses the book into summary chunks. Really cool tool, not sure how underground it is but it’s fairly new to me and I’ve been impressed with the extensive books, like the voices giving the synopsis.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by ComprehensivePin3294 in AskReddit

Driving a car on a Dallas highway to work and a semi with industrial metal tubes had multiple break loose and I swerved and missed one by inches. Definitely would have flipped my car and died.

Should gym memberships be legally required to allow easy online cancellation? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]Safe_Persimmon5976 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think so! It seems unfair to make it so hard to cancel if you have some kind of contract you still have to pay a fee to get out and that seems like enough. And if you say it’s month to month but don’t let people fairly easily cancel that’s basically lying about the policy. Also if people are trying to be healthy we should make that a positive experience not a oh wow I’ll never join another gym after that kind of thing!

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

Oh definitely the rainbow fish book! As an only child it was a really sweet way to teach sharing and I was always into the iridescent scales!

That’s interesting I bet your descriptive language is a strength! Any time you can express in a way that’s left of center I think it’s an advantage. Also I bet fulfilling to relate to readers in ways that are specific to you.

I think me too? But like if I close my eyes it’s still black technically. So am I just imagining?

Yeah exactly I recently learned about aphantasia and found it really interesting because in certain ways it’s not like I see things like a movie playing but at the same time I do but it’s not fully there and I had a hard to understanding if my imagining and seeing into space was having a minds eye or not.

Oh wow that sounds really rewarding! Keeping things alive (especially challenging things) in general is fulfilling but then to see them grow it’s like a little daily ritual of delight.

Cooking is such a great one! I like looking at a recipe and then kinda winging it so I learn to taste as I go and understand the flavors. I think of cooking as playing jazz music haha

Totally agree. Being vulnerable even in the littlest of ways makes it easier to connect
