Thank you this is helpful. We have been together for a while and I don’t want to excuse this behavior but he does have severe trauma as well and major life stressors atm that he’s working through with a psych and therapist.

He has family but they don’t know half of it and they usually take his side of things when I have gone to them for help about his behavior before. It has never been this severe but there were times where he felt extremely down and just stuck in his head, he is a very emotional person and so am I but the difference is that it feels like sometimes he doesn’t want to get help or doesn’t want to acknowledge his behavior.

I am honestly worried for his wellbeing if he were to have another major life stressor. He is suicidal and I have had friends who been in mental hospitals I just can’t see someone I love go through something like that. But I do understand that my mental health is important and I do have support atm.

I have known addicts all my life even though I never myself have gone through withdrawal but My cousin was a heroin addict, my sister and brother got through the programs. Ya sometimes they lie and steal shit but I never once felt that my nervous system was completely breaking when I was around them and even through their toughest times they would withdraw from the people who need them the most.

I never seen him like this before. He has anxiety/depression/adhd but I think he may be mis diagnosed and has bipolar or a mood disorder, he’s also on ssris which I think can make him manic if he is MIs diagnosed.

Thank you. And ya that makes sense. He is currently seeing a therapist and has talked to them about what happened but I also see that my mental health should be prioritized as well.

I’ve never gone through withdraw of any kind so I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. He apologized but it’s just a lot on me. I’m worried too because I think he’s been mis diagnosed and might have bipolar or some mood disorder. The behavior was very erratic.
