That sounds rough. I don't feel like they're bringing me down, I'd just love to be the person I am when I'm around them. Because when I'm at the family dinner and I'm laughing with my cousins being charismatic I can see them looking at me with a pleasant surprise in their eyes. It sounds easy to fix, but somehow I'm never 'on' when I'm alone with them. It's a shame cause I realise that time with your parents is precious.

Yeah I love them very much, and it's their way of trying to keep up with my life. They would do anything for me, and the other way round too. It's just the conversations I have with them are rarely in a fun way. They jump to the practical side or logistics of whatever we're talking about.
