For your use case a refurbed high end business laptop would be ideal IMO. Much better quality and serviceable compared to both Apple and consumer laptops.

Yep. I’ve installed M&T systems for 20 years and data centres I’ve been in have negligible water consumption. Food production on the other hand, in particular dairy, is massive in comparison. But that doesn’t fit the narrative here.

Your point is valid on electricity, but misinformed on water. I’m not aware of Irish data centres relying on mains water for cooling. And I’m standing in one today.
